Some Have Mentioned a problem with Language change to Japanese when set to Spanish

Regarding the language problem. the manufacturer provided one solution.

First of all, thanks a lot for this.

I've followed the instructions, the box restarted and now it's not outputting any image to the TV but it's still on. It has been like this for 3/4 minutes now. Is this expected behaviour?

Nvm, unplugged it, rebooted, repeated the process and now it's updating. I need to get used to these things failing constantly lol.

Also, I switched to libreelec and I'm quite pleased with the result. Usb audio works and everything else. And since I didn't need android or any apps on that box, I get tje kodi only I needed.

Could you please point me towards any documentation that helps me do this and answers some questions I might have? I'm not new to Android but I'm new to Android TV boxes so there are lots of things I'm still unaware of like what libreelec is. But, I'm having lots of issues with DD and DTS 5.1 passthrough in Kodi and I need that to work so I'd be willing to sacrifice Android if that fixed my issues.

What I did:
I only followed the toothpick method in the firdt link as the script got the remote.conf from the android system.
I have libreelec on a spare sdcard I prepared with rufus on windows
I did a full backup from the android system in twrp recovery mode
I did not need any kind of specific wire
Libreelec boots from the external sdcard, so the android system is safe
Libreelec further updates are as easy as puting the new images in the update folder: really an easy task

No you don't need root to update the firmware..


Download the update zip in the first post

Unzip it

Put the extracted 3 files on a sd card or a usb stick (factory_update_param.aml,recovery & the update.zip)

Insert the sd card or usb stick into the box

Now use the update/backup app & select update.zip

Box should update & reboot

I did this but when the box restart, I see the logo of Android with progress bar Installing... and 2-3 secs after I see this screen

Yep, I'm seeing the same problem. "Cannot load volume /misc!" For a while, this update was available OTA, and I hit the same issue. I'm assuming that's why they took it down.

Make sure you are selecting update.zip from sd card and not form system as you may have older update.zip.

When I received and plugged my box, an update OTA has been show, I did it. This update is it the same with this of the 1st post ?

Could be error with SD or file corrupt during download unsure, many have used with 100% Ok
