X96 Mini System Apps That Are Safe To Remove After Fresh ROM Install

The following is a list of system app which you can proceed to uninstall safely with a root uninstaller or System App Remover after freshly installing an updated ROM without losing functionality or bricking your tv box. Some of these files are suspected malicious app, virus, spywares and bloatwares that has no reason to be kept installed.

Please ensure that you have ROOT privilege before continuing:

A --> Bloatware and spyware suspect.Weird name and vague definition of file name. Potentially a malicious spyware in your box.
Android Keyboard (AOSP) -->Before Uninstall Make Sure You Have The Latest GBoard From Google Instead
App Installer -->Make sure you have a good file manager such as ES File Explorer before uninstalling
    Basic Daydreams
Camera --> Why does a TV Box need a camera app?
    com.android.app.cus.aging
    com.android.cts.ctsshim
    com.android.cts.privctsshim
com.android.smspush -->SMS Push for a TV Box? This is not a phone
File Browser -->Replace it with a more functional and advance file manager app such as Files Go by Google, ES Explorer or Root Explorer
    Files
FOTAprovider --> Remote management app from China manufacturer potentially could be spyware
GetCityLocation --> Another potential spyware it is used to report back to China about your box's geolocation
MediaCenter --> Rarely used bloatware most modern day apps out there can already do Chromecasting or there are better apps such as Plex out there.
Mediabox Launcher --> Lousy and ugly launcher. Use Something better such as Nova Launcher or UGoos Launcher or even TVLauncher.Avoid Google's official Leanback launcher has issues with China apps and unofficial apps that doesn't support the Play Store.
Music --> You have better music players out there. Google Music, Xperia Walkman Player, PowerAmp or N7. Why do people even need a music player on their TV Box when you have media centers such as Kodi or LibreElec? If it's on your mobile phone, it's understandable, but a cheap TV Box?
    Photo Screensaver
PPPOE - PPPoE is old method of connecting to VPNs, still popular in China to bypass the Great Firewall but considered insecure way to outside standards. There's OpenVPN client instead.
    VideoStrong Mac Test
WebviewShell --> Allow Google Webview to display report of your box's info on your browser.
Wireless Update --> This push update tool by manufacturer is unsafe but optional to uninstall. Users can still update their firmware via recovery, backup and update tool or the burner tool.
    Work Profile Setup

Please report any findings or update this thread if you've found any mislabeling of the system apps above.

    Nice one.

    One question on X96 mini.

This box comes pre-rooted and grans root access to apps without even prompt. This is very risky.

Any workaround to have better root access like using magisk?

You should be safe if you only stick to known and familiar apps, uninstall any FOTA updating tool that could automatically update your box's firmware or disable your file manager's access to the root directory of your OS.
I've checked the box status after the latest fresh ROM update(02/12/17) using Root Checker Pro. It says all root binaries are up to date(GREEN) except for the install of a root manager app.

Should you want to take extra precaution, you can try installing a root manager apps such as SuperSU Root Manager or Magisk Manager to handle/prompt you from future root permission granting.
However, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR BINARIES when prompted by these root manager apps, it's already updated to the most recent, if you override it your box might bricked once again.

      Here's another advise:

Noticed that your box does not have a ON/OFF switch?
You can actually install a REBOOT Manager (requires ROOT privilege) on your device and customize your own shutdown menu.

      I recommend this:
      Quick Reboot https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ebootpro&hl=en

You can reboot or shutdown your device properly within 1-2 secs after making your selection just like your desktop PC.
