Android tv box certificate how to disable system updates
Android tv box certificate how to disable system updates
Hello I would really appreciate the help
I have a certified android tv 10
and I am satisfied with the current version.
I would like to disable operating system updates.
but I enter configuration update system, there is no option to disable.
developer mode also no ideas?
It happened to me before I got an update and I hated it.
Thanks in advance.

Not possible.
Sooner or later it will force you to update.
And without the latest updates, things like Netflix and other apps will also stop working.
Some Google Certified devices now even force you to update at the setup screen and it's impossible to block it or use the device without updating it, eg. on new Chromecast devices.
You are basically just renting the software and not in control of it.
I would install Netguard
Under settings "enable manage system apps"
Then just block the "system update app" and any other app you don't wish to have internet access
It should work as people use it to block the new GUI on Amazon firestick
I like it...because i can choose what app can phone home (extra security layer )
note: if you install netguard from f-droid it has a extra option to block ads (using adblocking host file )
note2: it can also block Google play updates/updating apps

if exactly what happens to me. (there is no option disable)
If we hope that it doesn't happen to me (you update or I don't let you use it) is it worrying.
Do you think they get to the point of blocking access to Chrome or browsers? inside the android tv. already cumbersome in itself.

Excellent, thank you very much for the application. I will try, hope to do it in the correct process. There are many and this android tv is confusing.
***Today after 2 days of trying I added new elements and I was able to block access very grateful again for the program.
