Amlogic S905X3: Video support and decoding

    Hi,

The Amlogic S905X3 SoC supports HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby vision (optional).

Does this mean that all Android boxes with this processor support HDR10+ on video playback applications such as Kodi or VLC?

When we look at the advertising and the characteristics of the android boxes with SoC Amlogic on the online sales sites they all mention HDR10, HLG and HDR10+ but is this really the case? I noticed that some "Android TV" boxes with Amlogic S905X3 did not mention HDR10+.

Likewise for the Amlogic S905X4 SoC which supports AV1 does that mean that all the boxes with this processor will support it? Normally yes ...

Not all boxes support this as the manufacturers have to implement it into the software/firmware and test it.
It doesn't just work automatically because the chipsets support it.
