KM1 had faux Leather, now faux Wood, they just need to design a case top/bottom to be Metallic and integrated as a passive heatsink.

I would also expect to see USB-C become the default and universal power connection for this class of device.

There is very little in the way of a performance increase over the X3 and the other additions and improvements are always welcome but not earth shattering.

Full AV1 industry take-up looks quite a while away yet.

But if you are looking at an S905X3 then this does at least signal the dawn of the next gen and so worthwhile holding on to your cash to see what variations other vendors come up with.

We are not that far away from Black Friday either, so perhaps, covid permitting, there might be some new bargain deals to be had.

Alright was going through my some old emails, As of a few weeks ago - 16th of Sept. 2020, contact from Ugoos says they haven't even received shipment on the new S905X4 chipsets to start STB production. Besides the production hold-up, Covid delays of course, the big issue is that Amlogic hadn't finalized their SDK; plan is to have the new chip be released with Android 11 (R). Minimum turn-around for chip delivery to finished product is 1 month, so I don't expect the new boxes with new chip to be hitting stores till end of December but more likely sometime in early 2021.
