For Amlogic,it produced some specific chips with Dobly and DTS after paying.

Without licence,most chips shall never passthrough HD audio codes.

The Brain.. is correct
Most of my devices are doing passthrough
( box spdif --> 5.1 dolby/dts/thx --> Amp or soundbar) or ( USBdac --> headphone )

And dolby and DTS are lic free ( if I remember correctly )
Thats why the made new ones like Atmos

Still.. if its a software issue...there should be a solution

Pass through should be working with Amplifiers' decoders.

Decoding itself needs the chips certified by Dolby or DTS,as The Amlogic S802-H is the first certified SoC solution available to STB and OTT box manufacturers featuring DTS-HD decoding technology.

FWIW, the "-H" in the end of the AMLogic line chip model code/name/alias means "Dolby certified".
