Hello.
I am seeking answers to my problem.

I have nexbox a3 s912 amlogic.

I can not solve a problem with sound 7.1 android 6.0.1

My receiver is a Denon AVR-2200.

Letting go of the movie in 1080p or 4K quality with 7.1 soundtrack, the receiver gets the signal IN as PCM.

I have read the android can not cope with the sound of 7.1 channel operation.

What is your opinion on this?

Cheap S912 devices have lots of problems with pass-through.
Combine it with a Nexbox and things are even worse since you get no support or fixes for something that was advertised as working in the first place.
Lots of the Amlogic S905/S912 devices from eg. Wetek or Xiaomi run the latest firmware and patches from Amlogic to have pass-through working correctly.

after the last update in nexbox a3 began working for DTS 5.1.
The best solution is probably to wait until you deal with it can handle.

We need a sound 7.1

What TV boxes that do not have the problem? besides nvidia shield?

I also tested PCM output (stereo downsampling) via Kodi and MX Player/MoviePlayer app using my TV’s speakers, and HDMI pass-through in both using Onkyo TX-NR636 receiver for advanced audio codecs.

No audio with PCM output using apps other than Kodi is expected since the processor is Amlogic S912, and not Amlogic S912-H with the proper Dolby and DTS licenses. HDMI pass-through is still in a sorry state, especially in Kodi. It’s still usable in other apps, as long as you are satisfied with 5.1 audio.

On Rockchip devices like RK3229, RK3288 all the pass-through audio works good in Kodi and they don't even have licenses.

any update on atmos? i have Minix h8 plus and Denon AVR 2300 also issues with Atmos sound - looking for a new player to get this sound working, any tested/working suggestion?
