Now we have the Tone board up and running on Windows
              Arrived this day…Excellent

First a bit of a play Windows 10 and Headphones, no stereo gear here where I play (yet)

Should be easy, find a RCA to 3.5mm socket and plug Headphone direct to RCA.

That was not the case, could not find one…Looking everywhere high and low nothing,
Not even a 3.5mm socket I could Hack and connect to RCA, my pile of junk has let me down.

Can get one easy online or a run to the shop…takes time.

              More Looking, Looking,

As always when pulling PC cases to pieces or anything keep the junk may come in handy,
Found while looking, a front USB Microphone and Headset thingy, this will do the job

              Music to my ears,

Marked plugs are what normally plug into the MotherBoard of PC.
Soldered 3 Pins to the end of the Black cable that leads to 2 x RCA.
Plugging Sennheisers into the Green socket,

              What a beautiful noise

Easy to set up in windows, Install driver. < Click
Plug in device to usb C and USB on Windows PC Done done

Find all the specs and set up http://forum.khadas.com/t/khadas-ton...anual-tbd/2478

              Lots Features to be found

              Just to mention a few,
Now to Purchase a few 3.5mm Stereo Sockets
and a RCA to 3.5mm Stereo socket cable

                More VIm Fun

This time the case with DTV Fitted sorta

Pity can't plug Tone Board in by just removing 40 pin cover, of with the surround for this to happen.

Could not get any screw supplied to fit Fan to heatsink at this stage very small

Needed to improvise with Spacers to make it all sit and stick solid

                Bit of fun

                Enjoy

Yep, picked up a few of the cases. Used them for a little kitbashing to house a VIM2 and Tone board.

Also due to be released next month is the "New VIM2 SBC", version 1.4. This new VIM2 is designed to work with the "New VIM Heatsink" and "3705 Cooling Fan" to provide a more efficient and quieter cooling solution.

In v1.4, hot air is ejected from the casing via the button-holes, rather than bouncing off the side wall in v1.1-v1.2. This results in faster airflow with less re-circulation, so hot air is not trapped within the casing.

The lower temperatures allow the fan to run slower, and therefore produce less noise. Do note that at maximum speed, even though the fan motor itself is noiseless, you will definitely be able to hear the air as it buffets against the heatsink fins.

For users who are worried about the ROM support, all images that you download from https://dl.khadas.com/Firmware/VIM2/ will be compatible with both v1.2 and v1.4. The ROM can identify the SBC via its Version ID.

To see all changes between v1.2 and v1.4, read this PDF Guide.

Thanks for your support, we hope to bring you more amazing products this year!
