Thanks chenrp. I carefully peeled it off the top case. Now I'm in the process of cutting out an opening for the hidden usb's. Next thing to do is buy some copper plate or maybe rip off my old vaio's heat sink (and possibly a fan). Never thought I would have to do all this to keep the heat down. Where'd you get that wide plate?

Edited: The casing is really annoying. It was a bit difficult to pry it open, but it is a lot more difficult to put it back together. Any ideas for a custom casing? Was looking through some bread board but they all look hideous. I'm not yet ready to use my desktop casing as the pc is still working.

          Nice mod.
It is more nicer if you hide power cable inside.

            I know. lol
I just did this and testing the unit for now. Will be playing terrarium for hours to see if it holds up.
I have a bluetooth mini keyboard so I can hide the box behind the tv.

This fan is usb driven. Hooked it up to the secret USB port.
Temperature is around 42*C after an hour or so.

Temperature has not gone over 48*.
              This box is pretty good.
Loaded apps, forks and builds easily.
              Speed is very good.

Without the fan, the temp goes up to 70* in a hurry.

Did you replace the original heatsink, and what's the size of that fan you're using?

                      50MM by 15MM brushless fan.
Did not have to replace the heatsink.

I plan to change heatsink with bigger one with fan and as i see default heatsink planted with two sided tape. How can i remove it. I didnt do anything like this. I am afraid of making mistake.

They come off easy. You will need to clean the compound after removing. If it has any.
Didn't even notice there's a hookup for a fan inside. I'm gonna have to work on hiding the wire and wiring the fan inside.

A Raspberry Pi3 fan and heat sink kit might be the ticket.

That is the cleanest looking one . I can't find that fan.

Cleaned up the cable. Soldered the black and white fan wires on at the bottom in one of the USB ports ( two outside ones ).
Much cleaner now compared to a cable outside of the box.
