h96 Pro+ Black screen when inserting 1 TB USB 3.0 HDD
h96 Pro+ Black screen when inserting 1 TB USB 3.0 HDD
When I insert my 1 TB USB 3.0 HDD (Western Digital Elements) on my H96 pro plus the screen goes black. The device is still on, because I see the blue light. I have to unplug the power and plug it back in to reboot the device. Then the HDD works. I never had this problem with my old HDD. That was a Samsung 750 GB usb 2.0 HDD.
Could it be that the 1 TB HDD uses more power? Strange that when I boot the device with the HDD plugged in it works ok. I have tried both usb ports.
I use libreelec on my box. Can someone help me out here?
If possible try a powered USB hub. You can try insert the harddrive before plugging the China Box power.
If the hard drive is very fragmented/ corrupt sectors, it will freeze the China Box or run sooo slow.
If the China box is not compatible with the format type ex. FAT32 vs EXT4, you will run into trouble.
(My cheap((Fasttech)) USB3 hub is slower than my USB2 hub.)
