    Tanix t8 max ROM

Hello everyone. I have the Tanix t8 max tv box. It's a S912 16GB 3GB DDR4 device with android 6.0 preinstalled. Is there an android TV Rom for this device? I also have Beelink GT1 with s912 CPU.. Can I use the same firmware?
    thank you.

    Hi omerpr

This seems to be the link to official stock firmware, which is always good to have a a back-up when you do consider using custom ones.

Whether any of the GT1 custom firmwares will work I cannot say for sure but I suspect that there is good hope and I am sure that somebody will come along soon to confirm or ask for more details in order to be sure.

Thank you. Is there a way to determine which WIFI chip is in this box? maybe by looking somewhere in the official firmware? I know here are 2 different wifi chips in Beelink GT..

The best way to be sure is to open the box and take some detailed pictures of the chips and components.

The WiFi can then be clearly identified.

I have installed Beelink GT1 Rom on the device - the right wifi chip is 6255 if anyone needs it. The only problem Iv'e encountered is that the original IR remote control not working with the device anymore while the Beelink IR remote is working. Now I have two devices and one remote lol. Is this something the I can change without messing with the firmware again? thanks.

Yes, in the stock firmware there is usually a remote.conf file for the controller that you can use for the particular box you want.

If I remember correctly, it is in /system/etc/remote.conf

So first you decide which IR controller you want to use with the box(s) and then replace the one in the box using an appropriate file manager, making sure that you note the permissions of the original and apply them to your preferred version for the particular IR remote.

This is the remote file for the Tanix

Same box same issue, only thing i was able to do is, you have to install older version apk from youtube. I would like also to use youtube thru the browser but doesn't work. The firmware could be better :/

The company that makes this boxes is topleo they have a tutorial on youtube on how to upgrade firmware but they a different build on it 20170720 instead of the 20170321 ( lot's of bugs) that tanix has on their website i tried to reach them for that firmware but no success. Tanix also has the android 7.1.2 beta. I'm going to trie the gt1 ultimate rom from superceleron...let's hope runs smoothly
