      PSU 12V/1,5Amper

      tell me guys is it proper/enough power to supply??
      I do not think so!

      I'v "spare" two PSU one is 3A other one is 4A but those are 5Volt !!

      Now probably need 12V/2A or more ?? whats your advice for this?
      do I need more Amper for this Box?

        If you connect 2 hard-drives then it won't be enough.
        I read Odroid N2 also has problems with low power supplies shipped to some UK customers and had to improve cooling because S922 overheats a lot.
        Ugoos AM6, they had to put a fan in and ship with a 12V/2A power supply.
        I'm looking forward to your in-depth review so all of us can know how S922 runs and the problems it has including power, overheating etc.
        Not the fake reviews on GearB, GeekB with 5 stars.

      OK got it thanks+

      Seems that I'v to buy another PSU immy with at least 2/2.5 Amper !

      Same problem occured when I'v "A95X MAX" with default/original 2A it was not enough with 2 ext.HDD !!
      so bought 3A and problem is solved,even one with HDD(I'v Toshiba Canvio HDD and this disk consume more power
      then other Brand HDDs!!

      And I'll connect 2 ext.HDD + 1 or 2 USB disk too

      I bought these two PSU from our local market about same Price with China but a little more power/quality
      some of Chinese made some of Turkish made!

          If you use SSD then Power can be tolerated,
          Using Mechanical drives will suck more juice for sure ( juice = Amps)
          A powered USB alos hub may help, just depends on your needs and wants

          12v 3 or even 5 amp if you're going to abuse the box with lots of plug in devices i would suggest if needed.

          The GTKing is not like the Bigger Egreat or Zidoo etc boxes that have Internal Caddies and have Beefy power.

              I recall seeing it is supplied with a 2amp power pack, beelink power packs are normally OK

            #37
            well if its come with "2A" then I'll test it so,hope to supply enough power!

            when I check those 12V PSU that there is different "WATT" supply seems such as

            >1.5A= 18Watt
            >2A=24/25Watt
            >3A=36/40Watt

            so according this table such as this Box need/consume=18Watt ??
            in this respect for example 2Amper=24/25Watt enough power

              Pretty much but if plug in 50 HDD then you can expect trouble

              I have the N2 it has a 12/2amp runs cool no big USB devices plugged in as yet but i wouldn't .

            #38
            Watts = Voltage x Amps

            12vdc x 2 amps =24 watts

            Here you can see in a quick ana video of the N2 Amlogic s922x booting

            as you can see the max was about 6.4 watts on boot
            and 3watts +/- on idle

                If the HDD have there own power or a USB Powered Hub.Easy

                Go for a 12 x 3Amp or more, will always come in handy for the next Media Player

              Maybe is a stupid question, but will there be any chance of using this one as a Plex SERVER?

                I don't think it will have Linux support.
                You can get a cheap Radxa Rock Pi if you want to set it up as a server.

              #41
              my two ext.HDDs(1Tb each) without external power!
              USB sticks(one or two disks) with HUB(but no any ext.power connected to the Box power!)

              you right,I'v to try with buy 3Amper PSU

              and ready to stock upcoming Box

              ++

              By the way as it seems that some of customers bought this Box and commented "5Star" reviews
              OK where are they,even none of them here or at least one of them

              We are awaiting Beelink GT1-King owner!!

              ++

              And I wonder that,Gear and Geek;are they read our thread messages!!

                I'm thinking this Beelink model is too expensive for what you get. Not great value. At this price point, might at well pay a bit more and get the Shield.

                  I went for the Odroid N2, which, when used with Coreelec, works brilliantly.

                  There should be no need for concern about connectivity of multiple USB peripherals because this SOC is designed to use a minute about of power and with 12v/1.5a, that would easily be sufficient to power 4 hard drives if required.

                  The only downside to the N2 is that if you want eMMC storage on top, it is very expensive when purchased from Odroid, although that doesn't bother me as I boot from a MicroSD card and use an SSD as external storage.

                  Video playback and streaming is awesome and gaming has come on with support for games that would struggle under older SOC's.

                  Coreelec has already progressed to a very stable state.

                  How Android will fare long term we do have to say but based on Beelink's long history of poor support, I don't expect Odroids to be any worse.

                  I have no overheating or power supply issues and it's much cooler than any of my older S912 boxes.

                  As some have already stated though, boxes with this new SOC are starting to push pricing closer to the Shield, meaning that many might opt for that, with it's long established support and base, rather than risk something that is always to some extent, going to be an unknown quantity in terms of longevity of support and even reliability and based upon AMLogic's issues with their other new SOC, might be enough to put people off even more.

                    Hi guys

                    Pls give some time for the new S922X we just need time&patient
                    Might be we get this time good surprised Box or another disappointment Box "as usual"

                    Awaiting my new Box from Gearbest(GT1-King) but they do not ship yet,I really wonder this
                    Box and if satisfy me,probably it will be stay with me at least 6 months than I'll sale "as usual"

                    "Shield" OK but you if you carefully read customer reviews then you will see many of complaints!
                    about 4/5 years still the same Box!
                    I can fint it(in our local market-brand new one) around $ 200(incl. all expenses Shipping+Custom value+some expenses)
                    well $ 200 not big money for this Box or if you compare with those cheap/not worthy/worst support etc., Chinese Boxes though!

                    But this time if S922X not satisfy me than I'll buy Shield "I promise"

                    ++

                    UGOOS AM6 also on my list!
                    ODROID N2 also in my list!

                    actually I'm a little confuse

                    Bye++
