Don't update Binary! You can use the SuperSU app to control Root, but in settings make sure all the boxes are ticked On, just never update binary through the app, it will definitely brick the device. SuperSU apk was last updated for Nougat and is not properly formatted for Pie.

Thanks for both those... kinda thought 2.82 was later than the trouble-maker, but real gun-shy of Ssu ever since.
Does the apk Still support the paid 'PRO' key ver?
I know they sold the SW line-up. Of Course I bought the proV. yet and it's really tough to find again. It may have been abandon, or rendered mute IDK?

I Can't to keep ram below 75%. IT was running about 55% last eve, and quite well too. Seems awfully strange and inconsistent behavior.
Especially since the cores are hardly working, and since yesterday the only changes have been to freeze google chrome and a couple others like Kernel/ CPU apps.
In other words, trying a 'clean os' approach.... and taking the update.

ClarkKent have you heard of the Apps: Greenify or KillApps ??? I use both and generally have both installed in all my Android devices. Both have a service to run a permanent notification so you can easy pull down the notification window and activate Kill-All-Apps(KillApps) or activate Hibernate(Greenify). Both also can make a widget for the Homescreen if you are using a launcher that allows widgets. These apps will keep you ram usage clean from storing background app and process.

Also in all my Rooted devices I run the Adaway apk to block/stop all those pesky Ads-Ad trackers-Analytics that can fill your ram, it is not a lot, but still I don't appreciate apps running all these background services to collect analytical data on everything your device does. Adaway can be found on Android File Host with details posted on XDA-developers.com

Another App that is good is the All-In-One Toolkit app, it can boost Start-up which actually is list of all your apps installed that are allowed to start/open at boot; which you can disable-ALL for the user installed apps and then just activate(toogle On) the apps you feel are vital to device usage like Adaway, Greenify, and your VPN.

            Hope that helps,

            Cheers

Also you can use blockada, it's free today https ://sharewareonsale.com/s/blockade-block-porn-inappropriate-content against adds. I don't us fk manager on this box, because it's stock kernel.

Ugoos posts it on some forums like 4pda for users to test before it rolls out to everyone, there are over 250 pages of comments, info about the AM6.
You can also check their blog https://ugoos.com/blog and androidpctv.com
I also sent Ugoos patches to add extra game controllers, fix nova launcher to work with widgets and to add changes to make the home button work so if AndroidTV firmware is built by users that it can work there.

The latest firmware is v0.2.3 but I heard some users already got a new ota update, not sure on which firmware they are on.

looks like cec controls were removed....?
v0.2.3 dated 2019 07 11 just a tweak tho, most didn't pertain to me. took it anyways.

I tried to update my box but when it rebooted all I got was this Error message.
I'm not an expert on this so I just skipped the update & rebooted the box.

Pick up your OTA file from ugoos downloads/product/ am6
use the ota, move/ copy to thumb drive or SD card. Reboot to recovery and select file....Should go just fine.

Could Magisk be installed instead of SuperSu?
Than also .zips, like Customs Roms & TWRP installer zips could be used.
And Magisk module like YouTube Vanced etc.

I use this on my One Plus.

The AndroidTV firmware supports TWRP Recovery but not stock firmware.
Youtube Vanced can work but you need to install the YV and MicroG app.
At the moment Youtube Vanced website is down, so you need an older version.
Magisk will hopefully be supported in the future, but it's a problem on all Amlogic Pie devices at the moment.

                              Thank you for that.
I downloaded OTA 0.2.3 to usb key & pointed the Ugoos updater to the file & it loaded without problems.

you bet! you'll probably get, if not already, a notice if direct ota update from ugoos... you may want to read the proposed changes first. As you may want to pass on it for now.
Surely all these will be included in the next larger (full) update.
I do believe that this 85mg auto ota does change the cec service.
                                enjoy!
