Things to like about this new STB:

1) Chip has proper licensing for DTS and Dolby Audio
2) Physical Power button
3) An extra third USB 3.0 port
4) No stupid Eyes that light up, just simple LED indicator light.
5) Case has side ventilation holes, should help with cooling

Negatives:

1) No SPDIF port
2) Full size SDcard slot instead of Micro SDcard
3) RS232 port, good for industrial use, but no purpose for the average home user
4) They could have used the black frontal area to include a nice LED clock

Remove the Base: Meaty looking hunk of alloy: Casing is all metal:




You can see the Antenna in the Front bind the Bezel, I think External Antenna and a Clock would have been Swish


Other Side PCB: Not a lot to see

That metal case is a little dented inwards where that gray wire (antenna) connects to it. I'm guessing the case is pretty soft aluminium like a soda can.

Nope Its solid alloy that was my first digging point, thinking it would be the thinnest, was a very tight fit Unit
Weight in at about 480g nearly 1/2 a kilo No soda can alloy here

Startup much the same as the GT King:
Same UI/Interface and all looks much the same.
Connections to WiFi and Ether net all good here.
Connection to Google, install Apps and update easy.
Not expecting any Great surprises, just better than the previous I guess.
