balbes150 includes a script(DDBR) available in his Armbian and LibreELEC images that will back up the eMMC. These OSes run from SD card or USB thumb drive. The backup is stored and restored from the same SD card or USB thumb drive.

The following links are for different devices, but works for others. Subtle differences may exist, but basically similar.

To run on AM6 enough to download the image, unpack and write to the media (SD card or USB flash drive) size 8GB or more. Connect to AM6 and power on. The system will automatically start and prompt you to perform the initial setup. After setup, the system will automatically reboot and start the system. I plan to upload 4 images with different desktops LXDE MATE XFCE ICEWM and minimal server. Details about AltLinux can be found in this wiki.

I need a armbian image with kernel 3.14.29 for my x96mini (s905x) . I copied the s9012p.ko file from the stock firmware and puted on the pulstone open-wrt (s905x) kernel 3.14.29 and it worked with limitation.
