W95 With Mecool M8S PRO W TVStock Nexus ROM (Android TV 7.1)

Just want to say thanks to Magendanz for his ROM.

    I flash this http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...android-tv-7-1

on a W95 box that I been using for the past month. Everything worked fine apart from the remote that no longer work which I can live without.

I flash it the USB Burning Tool way and it flash without any error. It work much better than the original firmware that came with it.

    Hi jajoness65t!!!
Could you replace the /etc/remote.conf file and try the remote control again?

this is the original remote.conf of my W95 TV BOX

    Thanks!!!

      Thanks!!!
I've tried that and it didn't work. I did copy out the remote.conf from the original firmware but couldn't get it to work.

I have a MECOOL M8S PRO, S912 and the remote work the W95 perfectly plus TV remote work with Hdmi-cec.

        Thanks jajoness65t,
The rom work perfectly. The remote is not working but I can live with that.
However, I wanted to install Netflix and Amazon Video but they do not seem to run. I suspect something with the DRM. I can see widevine l3 is installed but still they do not seem to work. Did you face similar issues?

Don't use Netflix or Amazon prime so not sure.

Which steps did you follow to flash? I'm getting always the same error in USB burning tool (error 32030201), and I suspect it is related to device identification, because I can flash the factory ROM without problem.

Could you share a TWRP backup of your device (without data partition, of course)?

Will upload soon. Which twrp are you going to use to restore the backup?

You can follow these instructions from here to boot TWRP to make a full backup first. (post 618) http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...d-7-1-1/page42

Tried TWRP backup, installs OK, remote is working, except power button, but incorrect screen size (see picture attached). Only able to get 720p forced through mesondisplay.cfg.

I have tried this rom, too:

                      http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...i-atvxperience

Working perfect, included remote with power button and correct screen resolution / size.

Yeah that one worked great. No LAG and remote power buttons works.
