    4K playback with Kodi?

Has anyone got the Beelink GT1 or Ultimate to play H265 4k material through KODI? if i have the resolution on the box to 4k the kodi will **** upp the picture directly when i start it , i have to set it to 1080 just to open kodi on my Samsung 4k tv.

    Any guids or ideas?

Forget about 4K on a GT1 with Kodi 18 , it will never work.
Your only bet is a SuperCeleron ROM and using FTMC 16 instead.
If you perhaps get 4K working then you also need an HDMI v2.0 cable as the one with the box is likely an HDMI v1.4 cable.

I've personally had no issues with 4k playback on GT1, I don't use kodi though.. I use VLC Player, H.265/HEVC @3840x2160 works perfect
4k on Youtube is also fine. I use the cable it came with on a Samsung 65KS8000

I ditched kodi long ago.. found better, less hassle alternatives.

Also just tried this jellyfish-120-mbps-4k-uhd-hevc-10bit.mkv from http://jell.yfish.us/ on kodi and it works fine

Archos is probably the best for local network library https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ofree&hl=en_GB

I use the Superceleron firmware for the GT1 and have zero issues playing k playback through FTMC and also works well in bog standard Kodi.

If using an external player I find MX Player the most reliable.

I dropped Archos a long time ago because of it's poor support for HD audio. It has a nice looking library cataloguing feature, although it can be fiddly to use and is more style over substance.

Haven't used VLC for a while as it was always buggy but reports so indicate that the latest version now finally does the job.

In the future i will definatly have an nvidia shield but for now i will sett for an alphawise or gti because of the rom support.

One of main reasons these china boxes have loads rom support is because they need it lol
near all ship with something broke or missing or just run like crap out the box

Shield TV just works but its expensive for some.. so whats really needed is a new nexus player.. for £60/70
which would now be a pixel player since they killed off the nexus brand.
