It would be nice to be able to enjoy my set-top box and getting OTA updates, without letting Google into my house or worrying about any manufacturer's spying daemons in its firmware. If it were a smartphone, I'd know how to do it relatively easily (thanks to the LinageOS and its forks), but I don't know how to deal with the set-top boxes yet.
I've already done some testing on the Kodi/LibreELEC, but had very BDSM-ish experience trying to set up IPTV recording, so it seems like I should get back to Android TV.
