What?s the latest recommendation for a box.

I jumped on the Mecool m8 l pro bandwagon when it first came out. Sadly never had luck always freezing I suspect due to overheating.

I am looking for a new sub 100 box ?

What is the latest and greatest recommendations these days?

    Thanks

Looking for the same answer. I'm over my MeCool m8s Pro L not working with Netflix.

I hear you need to look for devices with widedevine 1?

Was looking at the mibox but only has 2 gig ram and 16 storage. Would prefer 4gb with alot more storage.

Oh and ota updates that actually work from the manufacturer. Updating from the box as opposed copy to SD and updating manually.

    Any recommendations on the above?

      Hmm..
      If something overheats the apply a Cool Mod :}
I did on every device I own

For netflix : xiaomi mibox or nvidia shield tv ( and yes, it requires widedevine 1 )
or see list here : https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939
On other cheap device you are mostly bound to a hacked neflix app (ver 5 or lower ) thats limited to 1080p ( or lower )
Its just not worth the time.. trying to make it work

      ps..
my last advice.. dont buy a allwinner device!

Thanks. Was looking at the beelink gtmini-a as it had 64gb storage and 4gb ram.

I love Xiaomi products and have lots of them however the low specs of the box has me questioning the price tag.

        Will check your link.

        Cheers

MeCool that overheats? shouldnt that be an oxymoron?

I like to tinker so i have a few of the cheap chineese boxes off amazon but i also have a shield pro and a shield tv (the tube one) if your not into tinkering and just want a reliable plug and play device get the shield those things are rock solid and the upscaling looks amazing

I only have 2 at the moment the T95Q and the magicsee N5max, imo they both play asphalt pretty decent but the ugly one looks better on the screen. Not sure if its the gpu or the S905X2 chip but i like the picture of the T95Q over the N5 max with the 905X3 both were around $50. here in the states

I'm using Xiaomi Android Box and it's working good for now. Nvidia sheild is a good option too.
