Hmm..
If something overheats the apply a Cool Mod :}
I did on every device I own
For netflix : xiaomi mibox or nvidia shield tv ( and yes, it requires widedevine 1 )
or see list here : https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939
On other cheap device you are mostly bound to a hacked neflix app (ver 5 or lower ) thats limited to 1080p ( or lower )
Its just not worth the time.. trying to make it work

ps..
my last advice.. dont buy a allwinner device!
MeCool that overheats? shouldnt that be an oxymoron?
I like to tinker so i have a few of the cheap chineese boxes off amazon but i also have a shield pro and a shield tv (the tube one) if your not into tinkering and just want a reliable plug and play device get the shield those things are rock solid and the upscaling looks amazing
I only have 2 at the moment the T95Q and the magicsee N5max, imo they both play asphalt pretty decent but the ugly one looks better on the screen. Not sure if its the gpu or the S905X2 chip but i like the picture of the T95Q over the N5 max with the 905X3 both were around $50. here in the states
