Hello eveybody,

I Installed Picuntu 4.5 on my MK908 stick with rk_flash_1.37 and rk_flash says the installation went OK.
However, the stick does not reboot at all. (It is not clear to me if rk_flash should reboot the stick? If so, how much time should I have to wait before the stick reboots? Maybe I disconnect the stick to soon?)
When I try to do a reboot myself nothing happens at all, even after waiting an half hour. Also the blue led does not come up at all (after the installation of picuntu also when still connected to the flash tool).

What might be interesting is that when I tried installing with the linux tool, it can only find 2 partitions; with the boot and kernel images. I can not install the system.img because it overwrites either the boot or kernel image.

Has anybody a suggestion about what I might be doing wrong, because I understand other people succeeded in installing and running picuntu on a mk908.

I had the same issues as Sloepie.
If anyone has an easy way of getting Picuntu working on the MK908 pls share. Thanks

first of all, you do realize that what you are looking for is a Linux for the rk3066 and this thread here is for the rk3166, right? yeah, so, unfortunately, this build of picuntu is not for your device the simplest way to get what you want though is to follow the instructions on that thread (I've done it myself before for my mk802iiis, it's not that hard)... you'll just be using a different version of picuntu than the one in showcased in this thread

How to install adobe flash in picuntu 4.5?

Well thought I was done messing around with my stick. I was just about to giveup on my device (Cozyswan s400 green sticker) and then I came across this.
Installed on my device booted up quickly, wifi working, apps opening fast, all around navigation smooth and feeling like I'm on a desktop.
I only have two questions
1) How to install flash?
2) How to install xbmc?

Can the resolution be changed?

Hi First of all i would want to thank you for all the time and effort you spent making this.
I installed Picuntu on my T-R42(K-R42 with bluetooth) and i ran into a problem my monitor doesn't supports this high resolution . So I went to a friends house to change the resolution but the resolution cannot be changed. Is there a way to lower the resolution? without making another kernel?

Hey guys, I got Picuntu to work on my Dell monitor, but can't see the edges of the screen, i.e. if I maximize any window, I can't manipulate the 3 controls (Minimize, Maximize and Exit), because the edges are out of view. It says it's in the 1080p mode. When I do fbset -s, it shows 1920 1080 60:

Openbox helps, because programs open by means of right-clicking the mouse, as opposed to edges (top left, top right, etc). Overall, it's doable, but if I could get to see the entire screen, that'd be great.

Can't get picuntu 4.5 working on RKM MK802IV (pre-jul)

I can't get picuntu nand to boot on my RKM MK802IV (pre-Jul model). I tried the original kernel then also used the 8188en (for pre-Jul ones) compiled kernel and both give the same error. I also then tried the 1.2.4 loader with no change to the error.

The problem is "request_module: runaway loop moproble binfmt-0000" - from what I understand, this is something to do with the kernel not being compatible with the device, right?

also had "/sbin/init: Exec format error" after that.

Here is a screenshot of a video I took of the error message (only showed for 1 second before rebooting).

Any ideas, anyone?

EDIT:

Another strange thing I found with the picuntu nand.. in the parameter file it says the machine is 3066??? What is the go with that? Is this actually compatible with a 3188?

Disregard my last post as it works now. Instead of using the crappy windows 1.37 rkflash, I used rkflashtool on linux and it booted! Hooray!

Hi folks,

I tried to flash the 4.5-image to my Vido N90 FHDRK (RK3188), but the screen only keeps blank. I waited for about 15 minutes, nothing happened, then did a reboot of my tablet, but still the same result. (flashed with RK_FLASH 1.37 and RK3188Loader(L)_V1.24, everything worked fine(last info of the flash tool: INFO: Run OK). Is there a way to get this image working on my device? OR: Is there a "generic" image ?

I'd really appreciate your help with this.

Installed picuntu (works great) on MK908 V3.0 2013.05.13 unforunately it doesnt detect my Wifi/BT AP6210 combo?

I wish alteast wifi could work? Any instructions on how to enable or insert the driver (if its already present in picuntu distribution 4.5?)
