sat>ip and tvheadend backend

hey people,

please excuse my stooopid questions and strange english. i am not an expert on android and stuff. actually i also operate my linux with a mouse mostly.... . and i am not a english native-speaker.
anyways i think im not (too) stupid.
so here i go:
i recently bought a sat>ip tuner. its connected to the dish on the roof and streams 4 signals into my lan (using rtp,rtsp,upnp,dlna....; very cool machine btw!!!). after having had major problems with some t-r42 clone i also bought a x8-h plus to use as client for "everything" (netflix, youtube, web AND sat>ip). actually everything works fine now. dedicated apps for sat>ip work fine and simple iptv plugin for xbmc (kodi wont work with that) too. point is that i lack recording (and epg is another minor issue).
Do i get it right that you are trying to get pvr backends running on android? just asking because i dont feel like having a "real" linux/windows/mac machine running 24/7 (with some backend server programm) just for pvr-services. an alternative would be putting the backend on my nas. there is solutions for synology and others but i have a d-link .
i would not even have problems with drivers for some weird dvb-t-s-c usb-sticks, since my backend would be fed by that tuner-box with some kind of iptv-streams (s.a.).

i could btw contribute with a well working m3u for simple iptv plugin for xbmc. its just filled with german channels but a good start even for other coutries.

looking forward for feedback and contact to people with comparable setup.

cheers

TVHeadend on x8-h plus

hey again,

ive got my answer ;-). you are not only trying to but you really did get tvheadend working on android. i am stunned! great work.
i just managed to get everything configured (which is a pain in the bunghole....) and i confirm full functioning of everything. SD, HD viewing and recording, timeshifting, even epg grabs work great.

cheers

recording to external usb

hey again,

i guess i need a hint. i want to make tvheadend to write recordings and timeshift-data to an external usb. it will not do that.
ive tried all kind of things like editing /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml. but it wont work. just told tvheadend to use /storage/external_storage/sda1/tvrec. the strange thing is that a directory gets created but creation of files fails. so the result of trying to record something is just the creation of the drawer "tvrec" by tvheadend.

any ideas how to manage?

cheers

too bad but its kind of solved

nobody out there with this problem?
i solved it by just mounting my nas and do the recording there.
mounting was pretty tricky on this box for me, but i managed.

cheers

I'm a newbie!!!

Hi folks,

i have an MINIX X8H-Plus (Amlogic S812).

Can someone, give me some tips how to install TVHeadEnd backend?

Should i install files from post#1?

Any newer zip package, i should install instead post#1?

I need a something like a WIKI step-by-step, to install and compile packages.

@Taki: I'm free to do any tests you need!!

Best regards and congratulations for this excellent effort!!!
