Hi !
I've been told that SPMC could run youtube video in 4k. I installed SPMC (downloaded it on google play store) and installed the youtube add-on, look for 4k video but it does only play in 720p. I checked in the settings and can only choose "1080 live / 720p". So can SPMC really play youtube video at 4k ? If so, what am I missing ?

I feel a bit confused.
I thought SPMC was a special build for Android to enable more features, namely AMLogic / Libstagefright.
Right now, since Koying moved to Android API 21+ only, what exactly are the benefits of using SPMC vs Kodi? Isn't SPMC all about Mediacodec-only, now?

SPMC today is basically an NVidia Shield optimised version of Kodi.

Type spmc in google go to his site download latest or playstore. I think that box is lubutu or 4.4 kitkat isnt it you may need to use older version some things not working in kitkat.

You can forget about running Kodi on that device.
Kodi 17 won't install as it requires Android Lollipop minimum.
All the other Kodi's like FTMC, RKMC require updated Lollipop firmware to work correctly which is not available for the OHC.
So you can only install Kodi 16.1 or SPMC 15/16 with limited features, no frame-rate switching, no pass-through etc.

Hello,

i´ve installed newest SPMC from Google Play Store on Rockchip-Stick and on Android TV. Normally i use Amber Skin cause my eyes aren´t healthy enough for the other skins. In Amber for SPMC there is no possibility to change the settings of the skin. In Kodi 17.1 this is given.

My biggest problem in Kodi and SPMC is to have gallery view in all folders. I can´t read those small letters in list view.
How can i choose gallery or thumbnail-mode (view) in SPMC with Confluence or Amber? I tried several other skins but they aren´t a good choice for me. And i can´t find this option in any of them.
