    Got my Minix Z64 boxes!!!!

First... Thanks a TON to the Minix team for sending me the two boxes!

Minix has always been a good player with our Dev team and Freaktab in general. Heck look back folks. Minix released the SDK for the X7 to us before ANY OTHER manufacturer with RockChip would! So from a development point of view, Minix has always been open to working with FreakTab Devs!

So all I can say is it is always a pleasure working with Minix. Great group of guys.

Anyway, I got my two boxes yesterday! Time to play

Let me just say... the out of the box experience is really good. As you know Minix products are some of the best quality out there! So as always, opening the box is FUN

So let me ask..... Anything you all want me to look into? I think the Windows version "is what it is" I mean it's windows! So how about the Android version? What would you like.... FOr sure I will do a custom ROM for it too

if I may ask, how's the box behaving under lots of stress? (ex. hevc h265 decoding, etc.)
does it go into throttling, like most of the other bay trail boxes?
    what are the temps?

    tnx bob

    edit:

can (under windows, i know it cant under android) the box use all the true refreshes freq like
    23,976
    59,9
    etc.
    ?

also, how's the included remote in the daily use (kodi etc.) ? comfy? responsive?

    thx again

      Please check this. Thanks.

To find out if the WiFi adapter is running Windows 8.1 (NDIS 6.4) driver, open Power Shell and run this command:
      Get-NetAdapter | Select Name, NdisVersion

So now folks have had the Z64 for a little while how does it compare in speed, use etc compared with the X8/X8 Plus?

I love my XH8 Plus PERIOD!

But I also love my Z64 and Pipo.

Why? Because the Windows boxes can play Netflix at full HD and they work with other streaming services that Android seems to not be able to figure out how to do well.....

So what do I have connected to my TV right now?

I use Android for XBMC, and other stuff that just works well with Android.

I use Windows boxes for Netflix, Hulu, and stuff Windows is good at!

A major difference why I am not using XBMC on Windows...... The remote! With Windows I have to use a wireless keyboard / mouse to use that system. With an Android box, I use a simple remote and XBMC just seems to work better.....

Yep, sorry to say... TWO boxes are connected to my TV's now.

To use a remote on XBMC 'windows' version, this is my solution: http://flirc.tv/product/flirc/
It works perfect on my minix Z64W ;-)

Finless, I only want to buy one of these two:
              - X8-H Plus
              - Z64w

              What I Need t for:
              - XBMC, mails, little browsing, accessing network files from NAS
              - Remote control
              - Streaming movies/tv shows à la XBMC/Kodi

What I don't need it for:
              - Netflix, Hulu or other paid subscriptions

Currently I also have an ASUS T100TA Windows 8.1 tablet (Intel Z3740, 2 GB RAM). So I'm guessing I wouldn't need the windows version TV box as I already have it on a tablet.

So the main question would remain: is Kodi more stable on Z64W or on X8-H Plus? Is it true that the A2 Lite remote won't work on Z64W Kodi? Because this would be a deal breaker...
