You are right, meanwhile there exists a way to switch the BIOS and this is important because the A use a 64bit UEFI where nobody found a way to boot 8.1 at the moment (but 8 seems to work)... maybe you will find a way to boot Android from the 32bit UEFI, BUT I'm nearly sure not the MINIX version...
If you talk about dual boot, I think (because of the limit of 32GB internal eMMC) you should do it / choose the way via external device (but Linuxium also found a way to boot 8.1 and Linux from internal eMMC)...
BTW: at the moment I don't know if openElec will work...
