Overheating? Throttling? Something the Z64 never heard about :)

Timescale at the Temperatures and CPU-Usage curves doesn't match so no throttling during stress...

    Pfff...

My cheap Pipo X7 with cheap and simple mod for 10$ (simple work for 10 minutes, my grandma can do that). Room temperature is 24 ºC. Click image for larger version

Max temp is 14 ºC lower than Z64.

"I am watching you pretty boy..."

Do you need real burn-in test? Run LinX (CPU burn test) and MSI Kombustor (GPU burn test; Burn-In DX11) at same time. At check you clock when Z64 will go down (throttling), I promise you will not wait too long.

      1. but you have to do the mod which not every one is able to do
      2. no need to post these kind of (adult) pictures ! LAST WARNING

My Z64 overheats / thorttles all the time O.o so looks like results are subjective. With mods on my x7 my temps are easily 10 degress less under load (those vent holes and aluminium casing def help)

hmmm, these results are definitely objective, but maybe you would like to explain the situation where you have the overheating / throttling?

Thermal pad at bottom side is fantastic!

Without thermal pad normal temperature was about 60 °C. LinX (Linpack, best CPU burn software) warmed up SoC up to 86 °C (trottling) in 1 min 30 sec.

With thermal pad normal temperature is about 50 °C. LinX needs 15 min 25 sec to burn (up to trottling) SoC!

AIDA and software 1080p decoding can not warm up CPU anymore.

That is very good for out of the box. My Pipo X7 wiith mod (thermal pad and heatsink) got same result — 16-17 min.

I watched a teardown of this device, can everyone check to see if the manufacturer used a thermal pad? In the video the CPU die and heatsink were both clean.
Simply adding some thermal paste could drop it 15 degrees.
