Have been thinking about getting one of these, BUT looking on the Minix forums there seem to be lots of problems. I don't know whether to think there is a high proportion of dodgy devices or if people only go online when they have sth to complain about.
So basically I'd like to know if any of you are happy satisfied NEO z64 owners.
First we should know if you are interested in the Android or the Windows version...
(btw: you can use the cheaper Android version and install your own Windows at it (after you switched the BIOS))
But if you are looking for an Android device (and mainly as a media player) maybe a X8H-Plus (e.g. CEC, 4K@24/30, ?picture quality? ...) will be the better choice, because if Intel then Errorsoft or Linux but why Android?
4k isn't really an issue as there is so little content and I don't have a 4k TV.
I will mainly use it for live football and series.
Why Android? Seems to be very popular, seems to work well most of the time. I'm very happy with my Android phone (Nexus 4)
I just want a newer device that will do what my ageing Apple Tv2 can do, but hopefully a lot smoother given that these devices boast more powerful specs. I've watched reviews on YouTube, read reviews around the Web which all say great things but like I said before, you go to their forums there seem to be a lot of bugs and issues.
Also it seems strange that the z64 is almost a sideways step from the X8-H plus, which incidentally is still more expensive.
I don't know if it is really almost a sideways step from the X8-H plus because Android at Intel isn't so much supported like at amlogic SoC's...
But as I wrote, I'm not the expert at Android at Intel.
The benefit I saw at Intel with Windows is e.g. that netflix runs at 1080p (maybe you should also have a look at https://www.facebook.com/minixtech/p...80110072051162 )...
