Windows 8.1 64 bit supported? No USB Boot.

I want to install my own Windows 8.1. I have the 64bit version. I created a bootable ISO imaged USB install, which boots OK on ym laptop. I set the boot priority on the PipoX7 to the USB drive, but... it just boots as normal, as if it can't find a bootable thumb drive.

    I'm wondering if it's because I have a 64bit OS awaiting install?

I have tried that - even holding F7 down... but it just boots as normal. When should F7 be pressed? When 'Pipo' is displayed initially? Before (black screen)?

Ah, wait... My keyboard requires I press Fn + F7. Got the boot menu, selected SanDisk (Which is the stick), but then it just boots Win 8.1 as usual. Doesn't enter the setup. Any ideas?

Cralis have you tried the above?

I haven't tried that, no/ It seems to be related to the target disc though. i.e. the one in the X7? Or is that for the USB stick?

Yeah, that worried me... might be the issue.

Has anyone put a 64bit version of Win8.1 on their X7?

as far as i know you can't install a 64bit version on x7 or x7s unfortunately.

Confirmed. x64 was the issue. x86 installed no problems. Thanks all.

Cralis - I tried the same as you - it really doesn't make sense to have 64bit CPU's and no 64bit install (I have v low RAM requirements), so I tried but the Pipo's version of the BIOS will only support 32-bit OS installs....
