Problem with pipo x7 map: cannot find required map name

Hello, I'm new one here and I have a big problem by using my PipoX7. Maybe someone can help me:
I bought for 2 month ago a pipo x7. unfortunately it stops working with the following error:

    EFI Shell version 2.31
    Current running mode 1.1.2
map: cannot find required map name

Windows 8.1 will not boot anymore

I'm not realy a PC specialist but If anyone know how to fix this Problem and give me a step by step introducion, I will do my very best to fix the problem :-)

Sorry that my english is not well. The reason: It is not normal to speak or write the whole day in this language...

    kind regards

Are you saying that you do not get the initial boot screen where you select Android or Windows? If you can get into Android, you should be able to boot into Windows by selecting 'Switch OS' from the top right android pull down. If you are not getting anything on boot, then gearbest.com or geekbuying.com may have recovery procedures. I have a X7S and never saw anything like this before.

        Hi cjeman,

        thanks for your answer.
yes that is right. If I start the pipo I received the error message. On the pipo is only Windows 8.1 installed but after I switched on the box on my screen I find this message:

        EFI Shell version 2.31 [5.8]
        Current running mode 1.1.2
map: cannot find required map name

Press ESC in 1 seconds to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue.
        Shell>_

        See efi2.jpg (104.7 KB, 1 view)

After that nothing happend. I can write a command on the shell like help or exit.....

        But Windows does not start....

        regards

On geekbuying I find a new firmware for the pipo x7 and I follow this guide: the bios file: x7 msLogo bios

here is the quick instruction for how to install it.
1 decompress the file , you just need to click decompress the part 1, and it will automatic decompress the whole 8 files. and then you will find a folder called x7.
2 now prepare a usb driver (at least 8gb) and then format it to NTFS and change the Volume Label to winpe
3 copy the whole files in the X7 folder to the root directory of 8gb usb driver
4 insert the 8gb usb driver to pipo x7, power on x7, and press F7 button, choose usb driver recovery.

After that I get message Device mapping table fs0, blk0, blk1 on screen but nothing happend... See attachment

          thanks

Hmmm.. Your EFI cannot find something it needs to give you the boot screen. If you are Win 8 only, then you do not need the selection screen. I made my X8, Win10 only and it boots right into Win10. I'll crawl around my X7S and see if I can find this map. Stay tuned..

Don't thank me.. You probably need to re-flash the EFI partition. I have no idea how you can do this. If you can boot into recovery and re-install Android & Windows, it may recover the EFI partition.

perhaps you have an idea or someone read this and know how to solve the problem, to flash the efi. If not I can only put it in the trashcan after using two month... The company ask me for sending and I have to pay it. From Germany to china and for the repair.... it is more expensive as to buy a new one, in this case not a pipo again....

You know.. I have always felt that these boxes were inexpensive enough that if I brick one, I'd pitch it and get something else. The X7S is giving me good performance and is now Win10. If you are not hung up on dual boot systems, AMlogic and Beelink have good Android boxes. I have a M8N and have been running custom RAM's for over a year.

Maybe some other reader can help you correct your EFI problem.

I offten had this problem if something went wrong while flashing a new firmware. For now just connect an usb drive and try to access it from within the efi shell.
(just enter fs0: and see what happens).

Wenn du da keinen Zugriff mehr hast hilft nur noch ein reflash per SPI-Programmer. Falls du keinen Programmer hast, kannst du mir den Pipo schicken. Das dann aber per PM.

                        Cheers

fs0 is not recognized as an internal....
I ask you for further information personally. Thanks

Did you change anything in bios? Can you get into bios? Did you try leaving it unplugged for awhile? Did you have any power surges or lightning strikes?
