Full 1080p Modded Kit Kat 4.4.2 RK3066 ROM

Custom ROM, based on Shomari release.

    Changelog:
    Code:
    [B]Version 1.1[/B]
    - Fixed mx player
    - Added dolphin browser
    - Added Flash player
    - Moved all non essential apks to user install
    - Added 2 new custom kernels (720p and memory OC to 600mhz)

    [B]Version 1.0[/B]

    - Full 1080p resolution
    - Boot animation resized to fit 1080p screen
    - Custom linux X11 comic cursor
    - Init.d support (implemented in boot partition)
    - CWM custom recovery installed on first boot
    - Fully and cleanly rooted with latest SuperSu.apk (no binary updates after booting)
    - Latest gapps 4.4.4-20150117 updates
    - Latest busybox, with android patches for profile/history files.

Removed bloatware - device test (it's useless anyhow), stock launcher etc.

    [B]Added (latest versions):[/B]
    Nova Launcher
    Kodi
    ES file explorer
    Terminal Emulator
    Adblock
    MX player
    Fancy widgets
    noFrillsCPUClassic
    nullkeyboard

    [B]Kernel:[/B]
    Overclocked kernel : 1608 / 400 / 553 (cpu/gpu/mem)
    - Latest asix drivers
    - Fix for buffer address not aligned
    - Tun.ko, ntfs [rw] compiled in
    - HDMI sound fix

    Build.pro tweaks to WIFI/ETH etc.
There are probably other things fixed that I don't remember any more..

For those willing to participate in kernel development / hacking, here is GIT repository with latest code used to compile current kernel:
rk3066 Imito kitkat kernel 3.0.36+. Contribute to avionbg/imito development by creating an account on GitHub.

After required setup (installation of ameabi toolchain), it's enaugh to compile it with make -j4 (or just make)

You can also use any of the stock / OC kernels found in Shomari thread, for your convenience here are the links to those kernels, remember this kernels don't have sound fix so if you have issues with sound then switch to custom kernel.

    NOTE
After first boot you need to wait until all applications are installed, since all addons and some of the stock apps are moved to user-space (so they can be uninstalled). This means that after the desktop is shown it might pass additional time until everything is installed, you can use it as soon the nova launcher kicks in as everything will be installed in background thread. There are altogether 34 aps. I would also suggest to limit max frequency to 1500 as its enough to smoothly run everything. This can be done with noFrillsCPUClassic, just change max value and check "Run on boot".

    720p info
If you are going to use this kernel, you need to make small changes to /system/build.pro
    change density to 160:
    Code:
#set default lcd density to Rockchip tablet
    ro.sf.lcd_density=160
You can also force 1080p kernel to behave like 720p by changing:
    Code:
    video.use.overlay=1
I didn't test all combinations, but this two values are responsible for defining the resolution of the rom.

The Overclocked kernel does not overheat, the kernel is using interactive governor as default which is not using maximum frequency often (only when needed). Inside the ROM you have noFrillsCPUClassic which can be used to lower the maximum CPU frequency and prevent over heating.
I'm using this on daily basic and it's working well for me.

You can't flash this ROM with different kernel, if you wish to change the kernel it should be done in 2 steps. First burn the ROM and afterwards burn the kernel.

This is 1080p ROM, and to be honest to me is being faster than any old Finless JB ROM. I'm able to watch full HD movies without any frame drop.

good to hear that , to be more clear is i flashed a Mod kernel i will not have any Over heat that maybe damage the Device , if so
which one of these you recommended

Those are kernels from original Shomari ROM, I had an issue with sound not working on them. Some of people didn't experience that. If you wish non OC kernel, then try this one:

If you experience sound issue (no sound) then flash back mine kernel:

I'll be adding more kernels (non-OC OC etc) later as I get more time to compile them. As I said before, I'm using this ROM on daily basic and I don't experience any exaggerated over-heating.

Yep, after first boot ClockworkMod gets installed trough script. On first boot you would need to wait before reboot something like 10 minutes as some of the applications are installed with user privileges (so they might be uninstalled). In other words, you will get kodi after 2-3 minutes after bootup.

Thats strange, you probably rebooted the system while mx player was installing making it unusable.

You can uninstall it by following this tutorial:

Well not all HD movies will play without frame drop, remember this is 2 core system it's bearlly capable playing hd content. I mostly watched online HD streams without any issues, but I guess that movies with greater compression ratio will give issues. Only thing you can do is change the governor to performance (it will heat-up your stick, so after finishing the movie I would suggest to move back to interactive governor).
For this I've included the noFrillsCPUClassic app (you can setup your min / max values and make them default by checking apply on boot)

Btw. mx player is this file : /system/apps/
                              com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad.apk
