    Ethernet Adapter Power Issue

My MK808B has a plugable ethenet adapter fitted into the main usb port.
I have tell tale indications of low power, screen flicker

I have a good PSU, is their a way of separately powering the adapter without it draining power from the MK808b

You could try & use a external powered usb hub then plug the ethenet adapter into the powered hub

This is a pic of my set up below.
Could I attach a usb splitter cable from the portapow mains adapter linked to both the ethernet adapter and the MK808B?

No you cant do it like that you need a powered usb hub you can get a cheap one http://www.****.co.uk/itm/7-Port-USB...item54127cfbc7

Plug the powered usb hub into where you have the ethernet adapter plugged in then plug your ethernet adapter into the powere hub..that way the powered hub will power the ethernet adapter

Hi blinkone just to be clear does the powered usb replace my existing PSU.
Then do I run my existing usb to mini usb cable from the hub to the MK808b mini usb port.
Then as you mention above plug the ethernet adapter directly into a spare port on the hub connecting by the ethernet cable to the router.

              Hi Ed
No the powered hub is to add extra power to power your ethernet adapter + anything else you wanna plug into the mk808b,.you would still use your psu as normal to power your MK 808b.you would plug your powered usb hub to the mains power then connect the powered hub to the full sized usb on your mk808b then plug your ethernet adapter into the powered hub & you can also plug anything else you want to the powered hub, that way the powered hub will power any device attached to the powered hub & your mk808b will have its own power from its own psu :-) hope you can understant me now.

Thanks blinkone looks like I will have to sneak one of these into my collection of plugs when the missus isn't looking.
She thinks I will blow the circuit LOL.
A bit of strategic hiding and camouflage will do the trick.

Hi Blinkone how reliable is this one.

There appears to be a lot of quality issues with a lot of hubs.
