odd (undesirable) rebooting behavior when linux flashed to recovery
First, thanks Finless for all of your hard work. I have this odd issue in 1.6 when linux is subsequent flashed to the recovery In 1.5a it behaved as expected. i.e. from the android reboot app, rebooting to recovery launched linux. A reboot of linux brought back android etc. In 1.6 booting to recovery boots linux BUT any reboots from linux bring back linux NOT android. It looks like once booted to recovery all reboots (hard and soft) reboot to linux. Even powering off and the on brings back linux. My question is does reboot to recovery damage the regular boot OR does once rebooting to recovery once force it from then on. Any advice on how to solve this and return to the same behavior as 1.5a exhibited would be appreciated. Most puzzled. James
When updating from 1.5a to 1.6, do you have to erase NAND with the flash tool before flashing the rom, as stated in the readme instructions?
I guess this means that internal sd-partition is wiped and for example any titanium backups you got saved.
Is there any way of avoiding this it would be useful.

Did any one has issue with wifi and play market that i mentioned in my previous post. now even xbmc also freeze on this ROM after one miniute of start. I flash the rom tow times. with no errors as such. Please tell me how i can go back to original rkmagic rom. This is not working for me.
Did you "Erase NAND" before flashing the ROM as written in instructions?
Second, are you using original Power Adapter? Get a good full 5V/2A from elsewhere ; the one that comes with the unit is not reliable ...

Thanks. Don't know if it was my hub, or the port it was on, but it works on the OTG port. Its a c110. Still havent found a way to get bluetooth working.

V1.6 is running now on my MK808 and I love it.
The "power off" icon is working great and the little thing is just stable, works great for couch web surfing !
we have a 110 inch projector screen and nice LCD projector with a Samsung surround system which we hooked the MK808 into - and it is great for YouTube videos etc....
My wife LOVES web shopping on it, sits on the couch w/ some vino with Pandora running on the MK808 as well as her clothes shopping sites and she is in heaven.
Some last notes thoughts...
- the YouTube "full site" works great, but YouTube app does not allow me to choose "full screen"
- Gaming
- Can someone perhaps start a thread specifically for game controllers which work w/ the MK808 ?
- I really want to buy a game controller, but the only reviews I've seen are for USB SNES ones
- ... a thread specifically for Games which work well on the MK808 ?
- Many games exist for which:
- I cannot use the mouse at all - they simply will not accept input (Temple Run for starters...)
- I cannot get the "orientation" to change for other games
So, essentially all is well and I wish to move forward with more "gaming", and any help would be appreciated. And again Bob - thanks much for all our efforts - keep up the good work !!!

You need the previous version of YT. Unlike 1.5a, there was no YT initially installed in 1.6 ROM. So, uninstall your new version of YT, then download and install this apk.
Cant help much on the game controllers. WAY too many out there to know. I have a old Logitech Wingman Runble pad which works. Use Joystick Center 6 to get more from it. However read through this post of users reporting what worked for them.
As for touch screen games. None of these TV players have a touch screen driver. The mouse works like a mouse not touch screen. Now people keep asking for a touch screen driver. I am going to look into this but making or finding a driver that is 1080 or 720 resoution might be difficult.
However in the mean time, use the RK remote APP. You can enable g-sensors and touch screen and play games like temple run. Of course you need a tablet or phone to use this as a remote control.
