Flash - File Check Error, Bricked? Help!

    Hi guys,

I have searched everywhere to no avail, so I assuming that this will be a new question.

Device: MK809 [T002] with Hynix flash, MediaTek MT5931 WiFi
Netxeon MK806 v2.0 written on PCB

I have previously flashed Finless Bob and stock ROM, no problem and have used it successfully, then suddenly today after attempting to re-flash, my problems starts.

When flashing, after data has completed downloading to Nand, device always fails check [data verification] at approx same place [roughly around 180 MB]. Any ideas on what can be causing this?

The only thing I can think of [but hoping that it is not] is that the flash memory has developed a fault in that area, [just like a HDD having a bad sector] but this is just a guess, as I am not even sure if such a thing can indeed happen, it could be all or nothing on flash, no bad sectors?!

If need be, is there a way or a line I can change in the RkbatchTool to disable/bypass the checks?

I have tried flashing both another custom ROM, and the stock ROM without any luck, same result, after download, checks fail.

    See my logs:

      Hi,

      Sorry for you pal,

It happened to me several times, and it is always a pain.
It can be caused by several things.
Some causes are easy to fix, some are not fixable.
So, hope it will be easy

      * you use a usb3 port : it can cause some problems. If you have a usb2 port, try it instead
      * you use a usb hub : don't do it. Plug your device directly to the pc
      * try on another computer, it may work better
      * the hardware you have doesn't support the bootloader included in the rom kit.
Let me explain that one :
      - I have an Arnova 10G2 tablet sold in Europe
      - The rom maker (Bob) has an Arnova 10G2 sold in the US
      - The roms he releases run without a problem for me unless I flash the provided bootloader too.
      - So the same bootloader can work on some devices and not on others.
      - If it is the problem you face, try to flash the original firmware, then try to flash the custom firmware without the bootloader
      * last solution : you have a faulty NAND chip. And all you can do is return your product for an exchange

Notice : there may be other cases I don't know. I only speak about the problem I faced or heard about.

Edit : maybe this thread can help too : http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...D-on-the-MK808

Mine flashes fine and it completes that stage, its just the verification process where the flashed data does not match the image file. I tried both MK809II stock FW and Finless Bob 1.7 Sunval clone as they both use the same Wifi chip and previously worked perfectly okay.
I think the nand chip is gone, maybe I flashed it too much, a total of 8 times [worked perfectly], then another 20 times, trying to get it to work.

Brought off **** from China, so it was cheap at £28.50, which makes it unfeasible to send back. Besides I think the warranty may also be voided due to the fact that it was opened and flashed repeatedly.

Gotta bite the bullet now, and shop for another one.

I have been looking at the G-Box M6 with AM logic MX Dual Core processor, apparently it suppose to play XBMC much better than the RK3066 chips, so might give that a go.
