Heavily bloated!
Gameloft patch is needed
No accessibility options
Netflix still does not work, scrambled video...
sdcard writing seems slow
Antutu score = 8000 give or take a few hundred


SUPER BAD news!
The kernel is locked so no over clocking and what's really BAD is it is locked at only 816 Mhz
Not even the 1008mhz all other ROMs have been locked at WHY?
I am guessing to stop complaints of over heating...


Good news is my C310 camera works and Skype works.

How you know what is the clock? I see clock at 1008 with Romtoolbox pro with ondemand and noop.
Here in Spain Netflix don't work, so I can't test it.
Tomorrow I will try antutu and epic citadel.

I use Antutu CPU master and it reports clock of 816.
I also tried No Frills CPU control and CPU spy.
All report 816 Mhz.

Leolas, can you try one of those CPU Apps and see what you get?

Ok i will try.
I only debloated the Rom, add init.d, modified init.rk30board.rc to make work my WiFi dongle, supersu installed.
I will reflash the Rom cause I flashed one of my kernel tries from Linux in the wrong space of nand:banghead:
And then I will try.

Incredible the 3D test, antutu 9400 aprox. CPU speed 1008, Before I said in a post that it was 1080p, i was wrong is 720
No tweaks in build prop yet, waiting the yours, that are better.

Stock kernel, custom would be great, but no way to make 3.0.36 sources kernel boot actually, (working on it). I used the Rom that fist post tantun and I uploaded it and sent you the link by pm.
I didn't make any tweak to this Rom yet, only the adjustment comented above.

I will be testing this rom tomorrow, as that Epic Citadel benchmark runs faster then the 2dark4u kernel overclocked. I'm curious to how XBMC runs, and if we get patched 1080p kernels, if it can do 1080p 60fps.

It's good that Skype seems to be working. I'd argue that's more important then Netflix, especially since Netflix will possibly be switching over to HTML5 which means a new app, and a possible XBMC plugin.

Any news on the locked CPU clock? I find it hard to believe that they would actually lock it that low, surely the old trick of setting it to 1.4 performance will work, despite the frequency still saying its running at 1ghz all the time. The arguement about it being because of heat is surely moot, as I haven't heard of a single case where a unit has died due to overheating. According to the spec sheet, they are fine up to 85 degrees C, and considering clones without heatsinks can do 1.2ghz just fine, I see no real benifit to do it.... unless they want to push people on the quads by limitting 'old stock' to a slower speed then it should be.

yes, when i saw this post, i am directly going to factory and ask for the newest firmware, they give me new mk808 and mk808b rom, the mk808 rom is new release on 15th May, and the mk808b rom is new release on 13th May.

i am mirroring them, and show you guys download link.

I'm not sure if Bob got chance last night, but I decided to have a test of the new rom.

In regards to the CPU clock being locked at around 800mhz, I can confirm that this isn't the case. Using SetCPU I used the performance setting and increase CPU frequency from 1-1.4ghz.

Each increase saw a Linpack score increase, I then wanted to see if 1.4ghz was the limit, it wasn't.

I managed to get 1.5ghz working fine, how stable is this? I have absolutely no idea. 1.6ghz gave me a freeze after a few moments.



A very respectable score.

Next up Antutu, a few people seem to benchmark using this, and not give a detailed score on why there score is high and low, so here is one with each score.



Bob is absolutely bang on with slow SD speed, I have not tested an external SD card, but internal read/write speed is shockingly bad. Scores are very similar to other roms. Interestingly however, it is actually being reported at being run at the correct speed of 1.5ghz.

Edit: External SD cards read/write at their correct speed.

Epic Citadel I was curious to see, and impressive is exactly the word I would use.



To put into perspective, It's impossible to get this score on 4.1.1, even using overclocked kernels.

Discounting the SD Card issue, the rom seems extremely good, here are a couple of bullet points I thought I would share. I will update if I find more.

GPU accelerated GUI appears to be working, similar to the beta.
Ethernet on boot is not 100% fixed, it will get a connection, but sometimes not the correct date and time. (sorted in settings).
Hide status bar automatically, like the beta, is not there... great job
Libstagefright libs are included.
Rkremote still patchy using ethernet (definitely an app issue)

I will be trying XBMC on this, and using the beta kernel of 1080p as well. So will update with a paragraph to say how it's working.

Edit: XBMC is working similar to how it usually does. If you don't use an external player you are limited in the content, even 1080p was choppy for me (despite not saying any frames have dropped).

1080p beta kernel works, and GPU accelerated GUI is working, XBMC is still only 30fps.

Fantastic rom for people who don't need 1080p XBMC or Netflix usage. Let's hope overclocked kernels do happen, which will fix at least one of these problems.

The download in the OP is img. file, how do I package this so it can be flashed using CWM? can I just replace the img file that is zipped in the previous rom? Thanks
