The download in the OP is img. file, how do I package this so it can be flashed using CWM? can I just replace the img file that is zipped in the previous rom? Thanks

Cwm cant resize partitions, so the only way to flash it without problems is from a pc. This kernel and system is so big to fit in the olds partitions.
I will release a low modded custom if Bob can't do that, he have a lot of work with quads.
I want to wait for Erik links to compare what is new in those versions. Actually I have installed a little moded Rom based in the OP link, and runs very well.

Thanks, I didn't know the partitions need to be changed from the 4.2.2 beta.

FYI I reflashed to the download that Leolas sent me and now my kernel is not locked at 816.
I am now going to flash again with the combined download from Tantun.

Both have the same file name so maybe my first flash the CPU just stuck?

Cwm is not useful in this, at least you decompile and compress the kernel it will not fit in the 1.7 partition for that. It is a 8,6Mb size :O

OK I replicated what happened to me.
I flashed from 4.1.1 my 1.7 ROM to this 4.2.2 ROM. I never completely powered off the stick!
When it booted to 4.2.2 the kernel is stuck at 816.

So word of warning. After flashing this ROM wait a few minutes to stabilize, then power off and unplug the stick from power! Now plug it in and boot up and it will not be locked at 816.

Whew.... I thought something was up with my stick for a while!

It's the patched 4.2.2 kernel, which can be used in the 4.2.2 beta rom, by a man named Finless Bob

Works fine for the final rom, apart from the known SD Card bug, which isn't present on the final kernel.

Edit: You'll also get the amazing SD card score of 0 using it, not sure if it was like that in the pre release beta rom.

Hi Erick, MK808B file something wrong. Size also small just 228+ but MK808 is 400MB+..can you confirm? flash failed.

BAD BAD BAD... Rikomagic WHAT are you trying to do?

The software house that made this ROM is BAD BAD BAD!

I could not figure out why this ROM would not honor some build.prop changes!
So I tried to take apart settings.apk only to fail. Well until I used the framework from this ROM! Hacked at it and found WTF they did!

What a sneaky bunch of crappy programmers!
If we had a middle finger emoticon I would give it to them right now!

They compiled the system and then modified framework-res.apk to keep people from making custom changes by removing files expected by settings.apk..... WHY?

ASS HOLES.... I spent 4 hours today UN-FIXING the bullshit they put in!

SNEAKY yes! Did I crack their stupid way of trying to make a proprietary ROM?
HELL YES!

BAD BAD BAD..... I am super upset that you took open source code and tried to stop people from customizing!

Honestly... if this is going to be the tactics from this company in the future.... I will never buy a product from this company again!

In 2 years of modding ROMs I have NEVER seen any China company go to this level. Personally this just shows that
1) They will never release source code as required
2) They will continue to try and STOP people like me from making a better ROM than they can!
