Try another power supply (maybe PC) and make sure you connected it to the right USB jack on your MK808B. When that does not help, send it back.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm plugging the power supply into the correct USB (the one on the end of the device, not the side), and I've tried powering by the another USB power source (my television and PC) with no luck.

Returning the device is obviously an option, although I'd like Geekbuying to supply an pre-paid shipping label, or even better, offer to ship a replacement. Bottom line is I want an operational Mk808b, but I'm not willing to pay for shipping a non-functional device back to Geekbuying. Based on other threads related to the Geekbuying's sketchy customer service, I'm guessing I'm stuck. I may have to reach out to my credit card company and have them stop payment.

try to put the device in flash mode and flash the finless 1.7 rom. im doing this right now as i have the same problem. if you can get to recognize the device on your windows pc and install drivers then you are good to go.

I can't get my PC to recognize the device. Have you located the appropriate windows usb driver for the mk808b?

yes the drivers are inside the finless 1.7 rom, just unzip it and select the folder with the drivers when you try to install them for the device

device will get recognized as rock usb device. after that you have to open the ROM Flash Tool.exe and erease the idb and after that just flash rom. after that dont disconnect the device. if you have it near the tv plug the hdmi cable and you will see that the device comes one. wait until it opens everything then just power it off and then power back on but this time from the power port and not the otg port. thats all. i gotta go now, hope i helped somehow. i have had this kind of problems when i bought my firs mk808b in december but if you search a little here on freaktab you can find lots of solutions and you`ll get used to flash the device, its pretty simple. cheers

Neoal --> hey man thanks! installed the finless v1.7 rom and installed. blue light comes on, hdmi signal to tv ... so making progress! Next problem: the stick doesn't seem to boot past the Finless boot screen. I get a brief flash of "Google TV" and then the boot process seems to hang up on the Finless screen ... I never get to an Android home screen. Suggestions?

Are you sure it is the original mk808b, maybe is the mk808 or the mk808 clone. To find out you need to open the case carefully, start by opening from the hdmi side then check the silver chip, it should say smth like rk903 that is the chip for the mk808b. One more thing try to flash the stock rom fiirst, sometime it works this way. Flash the stock rom then after that rom starts flash the custom rom. I know because when i got my mk808b i had almost the same problem as yours

Success! I flashed the device with finless 1.7 again and all is well! I'm pretty impressed with this little device. The only issue i have is that the display seems a little washed-out at times. Other than that this is a great device.
