Broken micro usb

Hi Bob and the other devs,
So what's to be done for us, the ones that have broken microusb ports?
I tried last night with a male to male cable and it wouldn't work...
I have a usb cable soldered directly to the motherboard where the microusb port was, but only for power.
What i did was running the male to male cable from the full-sized usb port to my laptop. The laptop did not do any sign of recognizing the device...
So, powered through the microusb and connected through the usb port does not work. Is it because the regular usb port is just for devices? I mean do they share the same "internal" hub?
Any ideas guys?

Theres a post in the same forum here how to solder a USB cable including the data points. I don't know if it works. Thanks to you Bob! I can't wait to try this rom.

Select keyboard layout?

Thank you, Bob. This ROM is awesome!

There is only one problem. The annoying "Select keyboard layout" is indefinitely displayed at lower-right corner and cannot be turned off (although I've already set my keyboard layout hundred times.) Here is a pic for explanation.

USB ethernet performance

Hi, with this firmware, i can't play full hd movie smoothly (about 10 GB) on LAN. The display is extreme lagging . So does anyone know what is the problem?

Finally, I can use my UG802.
Wi-Fi speed 45mb u/d, better range, sync is perfect now.

Bug, "google now" doesnt work after completing the intro.
Checking market right now and more apps.

Info: on my old 94" tv it gets 1080(or atleast it states so), on the newer LG stuck on 720... could be something with HDMI standards...

Tried installing the Win7 drivers, so I can get it into flash mode, but having no luck. Short of building another PC to flash this thing, has anyone got a suggestion? Any advice much appreciated! J

FYI, something I noticed today reflashing.

CHANGE YOUR Time Zone before logging onto google! I left this as China in build.prop and Google is not liking it.
If you didnt do this it may just time out, stop, etc. I do not know why.
If you didnt do this first you can fix it.

1) Disable wifi
2) Go into settings and change your time zone
3) Go into setting and manage APPs
4) All Apps
5) Go into google play and clear data and cache.
6) Reboot.
7) Try it now. It worked for me

Seems the latest google app is doing this for some reason.

What am i doing wrong ?

As i told some Posts before i come from V1.4 there i had better WIFI as i have now with V1.6.
Streams i want to watch are only like "thumb-cinema", they didn't as i used V1.4.

Today i did a totaly new installation with V1.6 but nothing changes.

Do i have an other UG802 than you have ?

When I try to use Reboot app, this says: You dont have Root access...

With your APPs came SuperUser start it and look for Reboot-Application it in there.
You wount have given the SU-Rights - delete it in there and with next start of Reboot you will be asked again and you can give SU-Rights.

In LOGS:

Reboot - acess denied.

But, NO APPS IN LIST.

In settings I Allowed everything as defaults.

EDIT:
I put to prompt again when request permission and it worked... Allow everything as default not work.

A small bug in some application writes to the Google Play: not compatible apk.
For example: Total Commander.
(The restored using "Titanium Backup" works fine points leads.)

All previous 1.4a application retored for Titanium Backup. All OK.
