Was one of you successful with creating a working update.img?
All I need is a working JB with Sync, WLAN, Root and Play Store. If you need the Space, delete all other Apps, we can download them from the market.

Now I'm trying to make own compiled good kernel, so no time to play with update.zip, but if I'll have success it will be very good. Don't wait for 2dark4u update.zip variant, no reason to do same work as deadhp1 and Finless Bob, so I'm going another way, we need "community friendly" kernel for UG802


(I think, I need to contact Christian Troy, if he can help with building proper firmware, it will be much faster).

I gota say this Rom is the best to date.
The auto hide menu bar was a much needed improvement for movies.
I guess the manufactures heard our requests. Sync is dead on.
Video play back is perfect. Smoother transitions. Wifi full bars.
We got the right click back button back. Love that feature.

The only thing that seemed out of place was the hugh mouse cursor.
I fixed that little issue with a mod. Put in my own mouse pointer and it looks perfect.
If anyone wants the file to swap out the mouse curser let me know.
You will have to know your way around root explorer to do it.
And replace the framework-res.apk with a new framework-res.apk

Now I have tried almost all I can think of. Wifi works really well. Played movie from another computer over the LAN. Streem movies without lag. Played movie from USB stick USB HDD. Played movie from SD card and everything is in perfect sync. Have also tried my wireless headset, usb stick. perfect ound. SD card that many write about, I see no problem with that. I used the hard way when I flashed.You are doing an incredible job here that is very much appreciated. Many thanks and well done.

Cpu spy tells me its set to 1.2ghz but when i set cpu to 1.6ghz with no thrills cpu it stays on 1.2ghz . Wasn't the ug802 1.6ghz?

Two things I'm wondering if anyone has tested:

SIP working? I tried cSIPsimple and it crashes and reloades everytime I try to take a call in FB1.4

skype video?

I will try to check these things myself maybe tonight when i load this up the hard way. Just wondering if anyone has tried them.

its very unstable

I have installed this 1.6 version correctly. but I get lot of crashes, its keep rebooting when open video in youtube and some times when opening chrome. its very unstable.

Any clue?

do i have an other UG802 than you have ?

I flashed V1.6

now i have less WIFI (Network Signal Info shows round about 60% @ 150MBit)
as i used V1.4 (Network Signal Info shows round about 75% @ 150MBit)
When i use XMBC the Videostreams stuck, have not seen yet.

Read the instructions carefully (the read me first file)... try a fresh reflash.
ERASE NAND to do a full wipe of old system.
And remove sd card before flashing.

This is a stable rom.
It does work and it works well.
Best Rom by far... I've tried them all.

I think, did everything as instructed. Even NAND ERASE. but still it does not work well for me.,
Any way I going to re flash now and see.

make sure to not have an incomplete file downloaded. only bug i'm facing right now is losing sound for 1-2 sec once in a while. have to make clear that its not related to my home cinema theatre and its usb powered connection...

Thank you for this rom.

Works fine for me. Wifi ok. Youtube aparently without audio/video sync issues. Installed flash player and using Maxthon browser for pad all seems work very well.
And for the moment that's all I have used.
