For people using the 'dual boot' capable recovery.img from AndrewDB for the Ubuntu pre-alpha, can we just replace recovery.img with the one from that, rather than flashing it twice?

Thanks for the work on this ROM

I wonder if this would work - have used on my phone/tablet before:

      EDIT: doesn't work.

          I think baybora72 Is right
He thinks ahead, It would be a good thing to define what kernel version someone is talking about
As this thread gets longer and longer....
This way It keeps clear what's good and what's not with each version !

OK understand the dual boot please..... The Ubuntu release replaces recovery! Recovery is used to FORMAT /data and /cache which MUST be done after a ROM flash! So Yes... YOU WILL need to flash this ROMs recovery and boot it one time. After that you can flash the Ubuntu recovery back. If you do not do it this way, the Ubuntu recovery will not do what is needed for Android OS to boot properly!

I got my UG802 out of the boot loop and installed 1.6, now I can't reboot to flash mode? I get the Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb message, but when I press the reboot to flash mode button, it says flash mode failed. Any suggestions?

Make sure in settings you have USB debugging turned off.

OR if you have my 1.6 installed use the reboot APP to reboot bootloader. It will reboot into flash mode.

UG802 arrived this morning, plugged it in just to checked it wasn't DOA. it wasn't..... next step flash this ROM.... presently sitting here streaming 'Love over Gold' (Dire Straits) from my Qnap nas... lots more testing to do... but great so far...Oh I've not overclocked... 1080 rom used.

$5 Donation made via Pay Pal, could you split it Bob between the two of you... I made note of that in the Pay Pal comments...

                      Kind regards
                      Peter.

Thanks Bob, reboot APP worked and now my UG802 has gone from unused disappointment, to stuck in boot loop, to 1.6 working, to 1.7 perfection in 48 hours. Much thanks to you and 2dark4u for all of your hard work. The manufacturer of the UG802 needs to put you guys on the payroll.

Bootloop and constant restarting with my USB HUB (With hardware connected directly to UG802 it doesn't restart, but with hub it does - worked fine on 1.6)
                          2.
Music app causes restart (when launched)

Thanks! Great report! Exactly what we need. Please try stock kernel and let us know if this is still an issue.

Change Your power source to proper DC 5V 2000mA or better, your problem is a lack of power/unstable PS, I'm sure.

We tested, stock power source and I can conclude it can't bring enough electricity for overclocked UG802 cable too thin to get 2A current and digital noise from not well filtered PS as a result reboots and unstable work with stock/cheap PS.

better performance bigger amount of electricity needed, it's OK.
