OK here is BETA 3 version.

Hi, I own a mk802iii no bluetooth and with 8GB Nand flash no reset button.
It has the realtek chip as in Ug802 V2 but it's a no go with wifi.
The button will go on but after a short while it just goes off again otherwise everthing works just fine.

Many thanks for this rom. I have one of these clones and wanted to run a different rom.
I jumped in thinking I had a generic type but found I had one of the cut down versions after I eagerly flashed with 1.7.
No wifi and no usb.

This thread saved my bacon.

I had to short the ed pins and then flashed the beta rom and voila!

All working and looks fantastic.

One more thing.
The wifi performance is really good with this stick for me.
Strong and consistent.
The Finless rom though has made all the difference.
The stock rom was crap as already stated but now I'm really pleased with it as I got it for a good price.

Well shorting that PAD is how you unbrick. So make sure you are doing that correctly!

Unplug USB
Run the flash tool
Short the pads on the board
Plug in USB while shorting the pads
Windows Should BONG and flash tool should say MASK ROM at the bottom.

It's sometimes not easy to short those pads. I soldered a switch to them so I can unbrick when needed.

If it wont work, then you have some hardware failure. ROMs do not cause hardware failure.

After a week I'm still trying to get the pc recognize the pencil. I tried in many pcs (all Win7) without success. I have done everything as manuals and explains to me indicated in this post.


Do not know how I can fix it. If the hardware not the pc official android right?

OK I just got a MX2 to unbrick before I left on vacation. The pads actually do not work on this model! What I had to do was short pins 8&9 on the NAD chip like we have to on the MK808.

I guess you could say YOU were lucky I got a unit that the pads did nothing! If not I would not have been able to tell you what to do. It's odd they would make it like this and make those pads not unbrick like other models

Sheesh man... we are getting so many clones with differences it's starting to get a little crazy!

I to have the same issue. Wifi works with the original rom but not with the beta 3. Here are some pictures of my device.

The original rom would be nice but the one posted earlier in this thread does work and looks and behaves the same or very similar to the original. So for me I am pretty much back to where I started. Also a note. I tried the 1.8 release beta. The wifi doesn't work on it either. I would be happy to take more pictures screen dump etc and post.

Maybe take wifi.ko from working firmware, flash 1.8, copy wifi.ko in apropriate directory and type insmod wifi? if it's work, we may insert working wifi.ko in system.img of finless 1.8 and get 1.8 working on our devices.
