The best remote control apps and launchers for android tv-box in 2014

Hi all. I hope one of you can help me out here.Can you advice me the best remote control apps for my Minix neo-x7? I'm looking for the apps which can give me an opportunity of controlling my TV-box just through my phone. And standart themes of minix menu will make me crazy as they are too booring. Mybe i can load a new launcher on it or smth else? My friends told me to try IRemote and RK Remote apps, but they are only remote control apps and give me nothing more in their functionality.
Any ideas?

I've installed RK Remote - but it is an old app(at about 4 years) and smt works unstable, Logitech Harmony Remote is only for Google TV, is there smth for Rk3188 which would be new and stable in working?

Thanks for your advice, but You see the installation demands the access to the root files, so i can't install it as i do not know how to root my device. But is there smth else like this one?
