NEW-MK908II and similar devices CUSTOM KITKAT ROM by VECLINUX

Hi Guys,
Well I'm at it again. After my successful debut of my Q7 custom rom decided to try on my MK908II transmart tv stick and it works really well. Again I am a rookie at this so try to bear this in mind. This should work on the mk809iii cx919 and other compatible devices with ap6210 wifi. I found a generic kitkat T010 rom on one of the chinese rom sites I monitor, tried it worked like a charm so here it is with my mods:
rooted
custom bootsplash
kernel patch for vsync (not sure if it needed it)
debloated
added wifi analyzer reboot Esexplorer and other useful apps
added wasser-xbmc found in his latest release v1.0.3 (thanks Wasser!)
Few other tweaks I cant remember
So give it a try give me some feed back appreciate it

click on the sound button on the bottom nav bar on the home screen looks like a little speaker.with plus signs. Somehow that gets turned all the way down on first boot.

It's not about adjusting the speaker volume. There is no sound at all.
Switch to Settings > Sound > Sound Devices Manadger > Sound Output Devices Nothing changes.
There are thoughts?

well thats weird i have a transmart mk908ii just like you and sound works fine here. Did you have another version of kitkat on your device prior to flashing mine?

After being the only person to get my Q7 working properly with your last ROM, I was going to ask you if you could do one for my MK908ii as I'm not over the moon with Finless 1.6. Then I saw this post! Going to ditch the Finless ROM and flash with this later. I'll let you know how it goes.

Also works on my T428, only issue I found is the wifi doesn't work, but I use wired anyways so I'm Happy!

Would you try completely erasing the idb using the tool that came with the finless 2.0 rom with all the boxes checked then try to flash mine again? Since my rom is a single image you have to use the rkbatchtool to flash and it does an incomplete job of formating before the flash. See if that works any better.

Loving this Firmware!

Hi,

Loving this firmware so far! It is by far the best implementation for the mk908ii I have tried. It is fast, has great xbmc support and has yet to crash on me.

The only trouble I have had so far is with the screen timeout. There is no screen timeout option in settings and any timeout apps I use either turn the unit off or don't work at all.

Anyone have a solution for this?
