Same device, other name?
We will see...
First open the case, have a look at the board...
If it is not a "CH001 TN-BX09_V2.x", returns within 30 days
But I think so, that's a "CH001 TN-BX09_V2.x"
System
a) not rooted
b) Settings -> System -> About device
Model number: rk31sdk
Android version: 4.2.2
Base band version: unknown
Kernel version: 3.0.36+ / root@localhost #10 / Tue Jul 9 18:41:51 CST 2013
Build number: rk31sdk_eng 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.linking.20130709.184313 testkeys
Vendor software version: RK3188_R-BOX_ANDROID4.2.2-SDK_V1.0.0_130514
Board
The PCB is printed with (from top to down)
CH001
1335
TN-BX09_V2.1
2013/05/31
and generally looks like this
(from http://bbs.shafa.com/article-22-1.html)
The only different think I can recognise at the moment is, that there is a "IMG M1206IG 1330" instead of the above showing "IMG M1201IG 1246"
And a headsink at the RK3188.
Housing
After opening the housing, I know why it's "so heavy"... because of a metal plate in the cover
First some android-settings to do:
Settings -> [DEVICE] USB -> Enable Connect to PC
Settings -> [PERSONAL] Security -> Enable Unknown Sources
Settings -> [SYSTEM] Developer options -> Enable USB debugging
Then some PC work:
Download actual USB drivers for windows for example at Tronsmart ("Class for rockusb device") AND / OR
Download and install Moborobo (includes the "Android Composite ADB Interface")
AND
Download "TPSarky-VonDroid-Root" (includes ADB)
if you use "Class for rockusb device" and ADB works with it:
1. unplug all cables from device.
2. plug micro usb otg cable into device and into pc (nothing else)
3. press and hold little restore button on which is under device
4. plug in power cord (remember to still hold restore button) and you are in flash mod
5. on first time it may not work before driver are installed but later its working every time.
(THX lewy20041)
When the drivers are happy... run TPSparkyRoot.bat
Good question, next question
I ask lewy...
But before I do any other thing with the box, I want to dump the hole stock-ROM and build up a flashable ROM (maybe the next days)...
I'm 100% sure that it has the same hardware that in KingNovel K-R42.
I also disasembled my box and found out that it is newer revision than tested and presented on geekbuying.com pages.
CH001 1329 TN-BX09_v2.1 2013/05/31 with "IMG M1206IG 1330" and glued aluminium heatsink on CPU.
Therefor Lewy20041 HFW with wasser's kernel will work in this device.
RK3288 2GB/16GB OC 1.9GHz at 1.2V RAM [email protected] Wasser's 3.0.11 firmware
Out: monitor FullHD 16:9, 3.5" jack headphones; In: remote control, USB HUB: keyboard + mouse + pendrive
bricked: VOYO V1 mini 8G/64GB Windows 10
@Black
Sure, you need another kernel (because actual "Screen Width DP : 1280" ) but at lewy's thread there are many kernels by wasser...
And CWM can you find here...
K-R42 Hybrid Firmware by lewy20041 (special thanks!!) was successfully flashed and tested on this device with ROM_Flash_Tool . Take the stable Version v1.2.0 Final 1080p (cwm+Root included) and NOT BETA (freezes, reboots). Read and follow the contructions on the first page to flash this firmware.
Thanks.
K-R42 Hybrid Firmware is fine but it haves little buggies. Nova Launcher doesn`t work (Widgets), XBMC is not smooth etc.
I can wait for an alternative stable firmware.
Edit...I flashed K-R42 Hybrid Firmware 720P stable Version and it seems that is it!
Very fast, smooth and no bugs. And the CWM for K-R42 works, i flashed it over terminal (find on settings) mode. So I can make nandroid backups on external card. I am very satisfied and thanks all for this excellent work.
