Experiment failed (I bricked the board).

su
mount -option remount,rw /system
mv /system/lib/libmedia.so /system/lib/libmedia_newfirm.so
mv /mnt/internal_sd/Download/libmedia.so /system/lib
reboot

After that... the system was unable to boot. I will investigate at the end of the next week.

i got the same issue on 142712 with the hacked libmeedia.so
after replace i got only a black screen.
later i realised, that v142712 had a functional libmedia.so

i didn't change permissions or something elseps: is

I installed this new Firmware ...
- New UI for launcher is a bit better but I think I'll still use the default android launcher cause I'm used to it now.
- 4k@60Hz is still not working with my HDMI 2.0 4k TV
- Ethernet is still at 3Mb/s on my Gb switch (Wifi works fine at 30Mb/s)
- 5.1 Sound is broken again with Kodi or SPMC ( was working with the 142712 and SPMC as sonic6 said).

It's again a disappointing firmware ... I'm seriously wondering WTF are they doing at Rikomagic, breaking the 5.1 AGAIN ????

You will never get 4k @60 hz from this device as the soc wont allow it. Nospam explained this in detail. not possible. max is 4k @ 30hz

Pls go to setting--audio--set to default output and then try again.
The issue that there is a noise when set to HDMI Bistream is known by our engineer now, will reslove it soon with next release.

Hmmm, it seems that they want us for a long time beta test...... I only want to watch movies without framedrops or stuttering or something like this :-(
Best Firmware for me was this: TV01II RK3288 HTC + HPH mo123 v1.4 firmware v1.02 from this forum
