Well, as hoped, some RK3288 TV Boxes are in the market, so now it's time for the RK3288 STICKS.

This is the first testing board and probably after 2 weeks the first samples will be ready. It seems no more than 30 days to hit the market.

Finless is going to take one, so I'm sure this stick will get very good support.

Early yet to say, it is now in a first testing time.

The sticks will probably be under clocked compared to the boxes because of the heat. I good quality stick will be made of aluminum and use the case as a heat sink. Similar to what this box is doing: http://www.cloudmedia.com/openhour

Interesting, I have seen that box before. Aluminum is good but there are some problems there:

- An aluminum casing will requires external antenna (for this case it's not a problem, I know)
- It's not really easy to use the case as heatsink, the case can be really hot from outside (I have been testing something similar last month). Must lead "the heat" to the case from different places. Maybe a first heatsink made by copper or even try to lead heat to the external case by using graphite. A good engineering work (and think, later must be disassemblable).
- Not easy to make a good small design in aluminum, most of boxes I have seen looks really simple, except those from Kaiboer, Egreat, Himedia... but these boxes are really big
- High cost and weight

Anyway it's a good idea.

I like the stick format. Hopefully it can charge via micro USB. And hopefully some sticks will end up decently priced.

The China holidays delayed a little Z5C release, anyway as we can see in Antutu its firmware has been improved. Hope can get the 40000... but remember Antutu is just a number.
