        Thanks.

Looking at the bottom of the document it references the Zidoo Custom Kodi.

Yes. It is a document released by Rockchip and they link to that code.
Just shared because it explains a little more about how to do it.

It looks like good news all around and 15 months down the line we may now see RK3288 boxes working as Rockchip should have done so a long time ago and all it seems because of Zidoo, not Rockchip themselves.

It was not Zidoo who did this. Kodi did for Allwinner H3, then Rochip did for RK3368 and RK3288. It looks like Rockchip now is supported by Kodi.

Zidoo just requested this to Rockchip... no more.

But in Kodi forum, they don't support that Rockchip is making their own Kodi.
They say it infringes upon their copyright of Kodi Trademark.

But what is Rockchip to do, as Kodi doesn't want to support their devices officially like AMLogic?
Rockchip through Zidoo even released the source code of their Kodi on github.

Most AMLogic boxes ship with pirated addons and Kodi installed.
Also Zidoo still uses Kodi's blue icon and the name Kodi for their Kodi app even if the splash screen says Zidoo Media Player, so they are also infringing Kodi Trandemark.
But in Kodi forum their are over 500 posts for Zidoo and not a negative word about their Kodi from Kodi team.
                  Doesn't make sense to me.

I suspect that the lack of negativity from the Kodi team is because at last there is a vendor who was willing to share the code, so it would be in their interest to see what elements of the code can be useful for mainstream Kodi development.

But it was Zidoo who were the ones to promote the development and then release the code publicly, so far more credit has to be given to them than Rockchip because they are the ones that should have been leading the way from the start.

I had dinner yesterday with Rockchip guys and some design houses from Shenzhen. This is what Rockchip said (mainly): "Zidoo requested this, then, we did for them". The conversation about Kodi was quite long...

Anyway... the source are good news.

That will be embarrassing for Zidoo then as they have been taking all the credit.

Did the Rockchip guys say anything about what they intend for similar progress on the RK3288 front?

Rockchip already made it compatible with RK3288.
It is just the manufacturers that are slow to release it.

Maybe if you see Rockchip again, there is a bug in their Kodi(actually an official Kodi bug).
It only shows 11hz refresh rate instead of 60hz

eg. here the 60hz can be added and set as default - https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/ma...droid.cpp#L181.
