    ZDMC - Discussions, fixes, tips and tricks

    Good morning everybody
    Please add your ZDMC discussions, tips and tricks into this subject.

    INFORMATION:
    The ZDMC software comes from the Zidoo Builders. There is some serious fixes within the ZDMC specifically targeted at the RK3368 chips. The source code is also made available to anyone to use, abuse and build for his custom environment.

    HOW TO:
    To get the latest release, you will have to download the latest OTA from Zidoo. Open the archive with 7zip and look in "system/preinstall" you will find "kodi.apk" within this folder. Extract and install into your RK3368 box. It has all the fixes/api's needed for your RK3368 device.

    page: http://zidoo.tv does not work for me. Maybe a typo?

            Hey Cyber7,

            Is this thread the "main" track for ZDMC for RK3368 boxes? So if there are new versions will it be available here or will you create a new thread?
            And is version 16.1 KODI for 3368 coming out soon?
            Because my previous Kodi was somehow not working well anymore. I have a RK8 Android box with a Rockhip 3368 chip in it..
            1channel/Exodus none of them were working, also others, kept on browsing and browsing..
            So I tried the offical Kodi (16.1), also not working.. I could install addons but they were not working. Kept on browsing and browsing..
            So now I installed ZDMC from here: http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thre...-release.1133/.. and that was working..
            I also tried your ZDMC but it kept on crashing mate..

              Hi! Have DL new Firmware Zidoo 1.0.38 and extract new Kodi 16.1 modified.

              "2,Rewrote the ZDMC's codec for Rockchip chipset by using a new method for passthrough. update to 16.1,use the new audio API IEC61937,Fixed the issue of audio out of sync"

                It won't work on any other firmware.
                That is why I will release new Nagrace HPH NT-V8 firmware with an updated Kodi.

                  Thats my main reason for saying Rockchip has to start meeting the API..... Not every box will get the fixes needed and we will have 100 different builds. Confuses everyone.
                  Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

                    You won't get any firmware updates for RK8 RK3368.
                    New Kodi's will also not work without firmware updates.
                    You will have to port other manufacturers' RK3368 firmware to your device forever and hope it will work correctly.
                    People think buying a cheap device will have exactly the same performance and firmware updates as a more expensive device because it has the same chips.
                    It can't be further from the truth.
                    The only RK3368 devices that have regular support are Ugoos UT4, Nagrace HPH NT-V6, Zidoo X6 & Geekbox.

                      Why y'all cracking the RK8 up that much? It's a good performing box for the basic video streamer and still quite powerfull. At least I don't have any problems with it.
                      Indeed supplier support is rare.. that's why the official Kodi isn't working or they don't have their own version of Kodi..

                      But ok I just tested the one from Zidoo X6. And it is working fine.

                        Oh yeah one more question: you're naming a few brands boxes.. but what about the MiniX, MXQ and Neo X8 boxes? Are they any good?

                          When installing a new KODI, always check if the system/lib/librkffplayer.so file has been changed or not in the firmware that the new KODI includes. This fille is mated with the KODI apk, therefore it should be replaced together with KODI every time.

                            I would suggest something like Ugoos UT3/UT4, Zidoo X6(Rockchip) or Wetek(Amlogic).
                            Rockchip devices now have fully in sync audio pass-through support in their latest firmware.
                            For MiniX, the U1 Amlogic is also okay, the other MiniX hardware is a bit outdated now.

                            Avoid anything with MXQ in it's name, it will have no support.
