Looking forward to read your feedback for this device.

After your review for Dolamee D5 I bought it and I am still amazed how well that little cheap box performs for that price.

Well this will be one of the shortest reviews that I will ever do because the D32 is, in essence, the Dolamee D5 wrapped in a different suit.

So any comments that I have made for the D5 can be applied to the D32.

With only a few minor differences.

The D32 has a newer firmware from November 6.
The latest librkffplayer.so and libffmpeg.so files are missing in system/lib, which does initially result in the ocassional audio clipping but once replaced, so far I have not seen any audio issues.
It has a setup wizard app that whilst present, is not something that comes up at the very first boot, so not really of any great use unless you do a factory reset.
Updating and installing apps from the Play Store no longer takes an age at times.
The case does have a couple of rubber strips along the bottom.

The new firmware, once proper optimisation has been performed and the replacement of librkffplayer.so and libffmpeg.so is done, from a video playback perspective is very good indeed and so far I have not found the need to replace the bundled Kodi with either RKMC or ZDMC.

Still no auto frame rate adjustment although it hasn't been an issue for the day to day things that 95% of people will play.

          A few screenshots.

I've zipped up all the ones that I have taken and they can be downloaded here.

Just when you wished for something different.....

            It seemed obvious D5 = D3+2

              Haha

I never thought about it that way.

It does seem that the firmware has been improved though, so that does show progress.

I think that's what they do...don't update the old firmware..
Create a new box with new firmware then back track...

So we will look forward to you RK3229 rom to take on the world, or something like that.

I'm hoping that Lin can provide a copy of this firmware so that I can debloat it and add the 2 files.

I'm watching Fast and Furious 7 in 1080p and with DTS audio on it at the moment and the quality is just superb in every way.

I really do love the colour reproduction and depth on these new Rockchip SOC's.

All this needs is a 2Gb RAM version and it will need less of the resource modification to make it efficient.

Can't wait for the RK3399 boxes to arrive as if the 3329 is an example of what is to come then the next gen should be truly exciting.

                    Interesting...

So even a better box than D5 for the same price

Can you give us photo of a remote control. Can't find it anywhere :/

Only by virtue of the newer firmware.

                      But very good nonetheless.

This is what the remote looks like.

That model remote is becoming more popular with Media Players and seem to work ok,

                          Thanks bluesman!

I agree with trebor. I had it on A95X and D5, It is a really good remote.

I have dumped the ROM from the D32 and repackaged with a debloat.

I have flashed it to the D5, which booted up fine and now will be testing on that.

Once done and satisfied then I can create a new firmware for both devices based on this latest firmware.

Firmware successfully tested on the D5.

But I have come across one little bug that I have not seen before.

Normally when you flash a new firmware, after the device reset the recovery does a format of the data and cache before proceeding with the first boot but with this one you have to wait for the first boot, which, incidentally still contains a number of things from the previous firmware installation (despite erasing the flash) and then boot into recovery and manually carry out the wipe before rebooting for the normal first boot procedure to be completed.

I can't yet figure out what causes the triggering of the normal format in order to make changes to implement it.
