I figured it out. Using a different usb cable it got detected. Now, to avoid to do any other mistakes, what firmware do you suggest to flash?

              Hi,

I flashed that firmware but things got even worse.
Please, help me find a firmware more appropriate for my device: 1/8GB Rk3229, sv6051p wifi chip. Thank you!

I tried one, it got stucked on Android logo, so I tried to reflash and now I got the following error message: prepare IDB fail. I think it's bricked, isn't it?

I don't know how but I was able to unbrick it by using the restore function of rkbatchtool. Now I have to understand which firmware I can flash.

                      Hi ,

when you flash a new RK Rom "eraseFlash""Nand" is always a must , otherwise

u can get "Errors" like discribed .

What was the latest Rom Version on your Box ???

                      greetings / gefattern

                        Hi,

I have to erase flash for every ROM I try or only when I downgrade (for example from Nougat to marshmallow)?

My latest ROM was based on Android Nougat but it was a mess like I said. Now I have the 7.1.2 ROM by spectek BUT it's too much laggy, the launcher often crashes...almost unusable. I really don't know which ROM to flash...

i really do not know which is the best Rom for your Box , i do not have a RK3229 Box ,

but if only the Launcher makes problem , why not dowloading & installing another from

                          PlayStore ??? ,

I solved by flashing a ROM based on Android Nougat by Leelbox. Good performances, everything works except IR.
I will also try the custom Nougat ROM by mo123.

                              Hi ,

sounds good , IR support is not so important , for better usage , i , and many others , using a BT Mouse & Keyboard ,

or AirMouse , much better then the most , cheap and bad controllable IRs .

                              greetings / gefattern
