A95X Z2 PLUS - Prepare IDB Fail - stuck on MASKROM - bricked

    Hi guys,

I need some help please with this Android TV box https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000057505566.html because i cant flash any FW and i get this error: Prepare IDB fail with Android Tools or Factory Tools.

After i configured for the first time i saw that exist an OTA update, i installed it and after 5 minutes of use, the box stopped to respond and wont boot since then.

    - i tried to flash a FW but has stopped when the process was running ... and then the hell was "installed" )
    - after that i tried a lot of solutions (write another firmware, erase the flash, multiple tools, short the pins on the motherboard etc)
    - the box its stuck in MASKROM and it starts without reset button pressed or short the pins ..

Do you have any idea about how to unbrick this box? Or how can i reflash the IDB?

    Thanks,

So you flashed RK3328 firmware on a RK3318 device, not a good idea since it will brick it.
You have to get the stock firmware from the manufacturer and flash it with FactoryTool v1.68 and short the pins.
It might also be impossible to locate and contact the manufacturer.
If it doesn't work, your device is bricked and you can't do anything.
You might still be able to run firmware from a micro-sd card if using SDDiskTool v1.69 if the bootloader isn't corrupt.
In future don't buy such cheap devices without any support.

      Hi. Thanks for the response.

That picture from Recovery was made after the box stopped to boot after I installed the OTA update. Maybe the manufacturer send a wrong update...
Also the seller did not respond..he just asked me to restart the box )

I tried a lot of IMGs but without succes.. every tine I get IDB error.
Also I teste with an Uart device and I cant get anything on Putty when I start the device.. maybe is the bootloader.
Only when I try to write a Img file I get some logs but I'm not able to write any command through the Putty terminal.

        Hi ,

Mo123 is total right , that is your only chance , there are so many Boxes in that state of brick ,

i had the same with my UT3 , had to trash it , buy something better , for sure there must be a

Way to unbrick , but if not to find online , you can do , trashing ,

        good luck / gefattern
